Five years ago, I embarked on what was intended to be a short-term journey.

Now, as I reflect on all that has been achieved, the thousands of lives Justice for Animals has transformed, thanks to supporters like you, I am glad we continued. Together, we have made a significant difference in the lives of so many voiceless dogs and cats. I know you care about animals as much as I do, which is why I am asking you to please make a donation towards the next 500 dogs and cats we will be helping in Anuradhapura this February.

Justice for Animals was honoured to receive a Certificate of Recognition from Mr. Ruwan Wijesinghe, Commissioner, Municipal Council, Anuradhapura on September 28th 2024 for our participation in the World Rabies Day program where 2,876 ARV vaccinations were given to owned, community and homeless dogs.

Justice for Animals core program since 2020 has been spay-neuter-vaccinate, aimed at reducing the population of free-roaming dogs. This program helps pet owners in low-income communities sterilize their pets.

Barely 2 weeks old, these kittens' mother had been run over at the Kollupitiya market.

Her injuries included - hind leg broken in 2 places, badly bruised internal organs, infected and necrosed mammary glands and a broken tail. She was malnourished, anaemic and dehydrated, with a low body temperature indicating that she would not have survived much longer.

She must have been in unimaginable pain, hanging on to life for the sake of her kittens, who she was still feeding.

She was in hospital for 6 weeks, underwent multiple surgeries, although sadly we were unable to save her leg and broken tail, both of which had to be amputated.

Your generous contributions would be greatly appreciated, in order to settle her outstanding hospital bills and on-going foster care.

About our Anuradhapura Program

Tomorrow, [4th June 2024], we start our fourth program in the Anuradhapura district for 2024 with a 10-day program in the Anuradhapura Municipal Council, Nanupa, and Manupa areas. 🐾 I have received many comments and questions regarding the Anuradhapura program, one of which was, "Are you ONLY doing Anuradhapura?" I am sharing this video from 2022 in which Dr. Chamith Nanayakkara explains the structure of the program. This clearly shows why it is crucial that the program be goal-oriented and continue in a structured manner according to a specific long-term plan. 🐾 We have made significant progress [12,038 dogs and cats have been spayed and neutered in the district to date] towards our shared goal of supporting low-income communities and creating a more compassionate future for animals. 🐾 This progress is thanks to YOU and your incredible support. 🐾 We thank those who have already contributed and request those who have been waiting to contribute, there is no better time to help us change the lives of 700 more dogs and cats.
