how often should you bathe your dog? Is your dog starting to smell a little funny? Is her normally shiny coat looking a little dull these days? If so, you’ve probably been asking yourself, “How often should you bathe a dog?” The answer isn’t as cut and dry as you may think. The reasons to bath your dog are unique to their breed, activity level, environmental exposures, and so on. The truth is that your dog would likely be just fine without a bath. As you may already know, most dogs don’t care for bath time. Many patiently wait for the experience to be over and others give their owners such a hard time they avoid bath time as much as the dog does.
There are several reasons to bathe your dog, however. If your dog has a habit of rolling around in the dirt or grass they’ll be, well, dirty. You may have an avid swimmer who likes to chase birds into the local pond or lake where the water may be less than pristine. To top it off, your dog may be one of the especially oily breeds that tend to smell a little too “doggy” after a while.
Some say if you have a healthy dog without skin condition, you actually don’t have to wash your dog ever. Now that sound a strong statement, but in general a healty one only need to be bathed if they smell, there is no reason in particular to bath a healthy dog, unless they’re dirty.
And you? How often do you bath your dog and what are your thoughts on this?

How big will my puppy be?
Welcoming the tiny paws into your home is an exciting time, but do you wonder how big those paws will become?
From living in a big enough house to choosing the perfect crate having an idea of whether that cute puppy is going to grow gigantic or not. Of course, you may have a purebred puppy and have a rough idea what to expect, but even then Mother Nature sometimes throws up a surprise.
the larger the dog breed, the more months they grow for… So first think about whether your pup is a toy, small, medium, large, or giant breed. Those at the pocket-sized end of the scale usually reach adult size as early as six months of age, while an out-sized giant dog carries on growing for 18 – 24 months
some other factors are:
• male dogs tend to grow bigger than female
• Early neutering cancels out chemicals that tell bones to stop growing. early neuters have a tendency for long bones and are therefore taller
• There’s no such thing as a miniature St Bernard or a giant Chihuahua. Know that certain breeds tend to grow to a certain size, and don’t be surprised when a Leonberger turns out to be large
Did your puppy surprise you with his final size? Tell us 😉

Continuing with this topic...
Since the early days of becoming man’s best friend, dogs have become emotionally bonded to us. Many dogs pick up on our moods, and can tell when we’re sad or angry. And we understand dogs in return. We can read their expressions and tell when they’re scared, upset or joyful.
Loyalty is also just a natural behavior for dogs. Dogs are pack animals, meaning they are social creatures who prefer the company of other animals. This behavior is a survival mechanism too.
Many animal experts believe this pack mentality also causes dogs to be loyal to their humans. They think pooches view people as just another member of the pack. So dogs don’t just love a good cuddle — they also think loyalty will keep them alive. In fact, you’ll frequently hear trainers say that during obedience training, you need to assert yourself as the “alpha dog.” If your dog views you as the head of their pack, they’ll follow your lead.
The friendship between man and dog has gone back thousands of years. Dogs give us unconditional love every day. My question is, do we deserve it? I see too many stories of dogs being mistreated, dogs being made to fight, dogs being overbred for profit, dogs being killed because they don’t have homes.
Dogs have been loyal to us. It’s time we return the favor
Isn't your dog the most loyal friend you have on earth? 💕

Why are dogs loyal? Its an old- age question. Some might argue that it’s just because we give them food and shelter, but any dog lover knows there’s more to it than that. After all, we give food and shelter to birds and goldfish. But those animals usually aren’t quite as devoted as dogs. Pooches cry when we leave the house, jump for joy when we come home and live and breath for our affection. So why is this? Exactly why are dogs so loyal?
Researchers first theorized that dogs as we know them today evolved from wolves after they began cohabiting with humans. However, more recent studies have found a different conclusion. Experts now believe that dogs split off from their wolf ancestors approximately 135,000 years ago — before dogs or wolves started living with humans.
In fact, archeological evidence, like buried dog bones near human settlements, only really date back 13,000 years. So it stands to reason that the current theory is that wolves evolved into dogs without the help of humans. But once dogs and humans started counting on one another, they became inextricably linked.

Have you ever asked yourself how is possible that whenever you grab food your dog appears next to you within seconds? Well let's talk about that. *Today: SMELL
Dog nose are more advanced than you can imagine
If you're interested in diving a little deeper into this topic, Here's a snapshot: While humans have about 6 million olfactory receptors in their noses, dog noses contain upwards of 300 million. Their nose is also remarkably practical – they breathe in through their nostrils and then exhale through the slits on the sides of their noses, meaning there is constant scent-processing happening. This is where your pup's wet nose comes into play, as well; the "wet" nature of the nose catches compounds from the breeze. Dogs can also smell separately with each nostril, which gives them the ability to pinpoint the direction that the smell is coming from. Dogs have an acute way of smelling hormones, which means that they can read feelings of anger or stress on someone, as well as knowing when someone is pregnant. Some dogs can even sniff out cancerous cells! One phenomenal fact about a dog's sense of smell is that they can also process things that have happened in the past. They can smell when a car has just pulled away, or a human has just walked by.

Do you know these fun facts about your dog?
*today: vision
Your dog can see more than black and white, If you thought your pup was only seeing in shades of gray, black, and white – you're mistaken! Eyes contain nerve cells that can be split into two categories: ocular rods and ocular cones. While rods detect light, cones are the part of the eye that perceive color, humans have many more color-sensing cones than dogs; We can see the "full" color spectrum, while pups can only see three shades of color: blue, blue-violet, and yellow. Anything with shades of red or green do appear to be shades of gray. However, there's a tradeoff. While dogs have fewer cones than humans, their eyes contain almost triple the rods – meaning that they have an incredibly keen eye for motion and can see much better in low light than humans can.
