⭐️British Society of Veterinary Pathology Widening Access Bursary ⭐️

The BSVP - British Society of Veterinary Pathology is offering a bursary to attend their annual Meeting on 15 & 16 October 2022. Bursaries for virtual and face-to-face attendance are available. This bursary is aimed at students who wish to pursue a career in veterinary science, or veterinarians with an interest in veterinary pathology.

The scholarship is open to all applicants whose social class, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability or other individual circumstance (e.g. they spent their childhood in foster care or are a single parent) is underrepresented in veterinary science.
To apply, please email the BSVP ([email protected]) with your name, email address and occupation status (pre-vet student / undergraduate vet student / postgrad student / working full or part-time / other), before 30 September 2022.

BSVP AUTUMN MEETING 2022: BONE PATHOLOGY OF DOMESTIC ANIMALS

Join us for the annual BSVP Autumn meeting, which will be held as a face-to face in-person meeting only.
Dates: Saturday and Sunday 15 – 16 October 2022
Venue: Harvest Fields Centre, Sutton Coldfield

Our Keynote speaker is Professor Brian Murphy from UC Davis, California. Not only is Brian a well known speaker on veterinary oral pathology, but he is also an expert in the field of Bone Pathology and is one of the co-authors of the volume on Tumors of Bone, Cartilage and Other Hard Tissues published by the Davis-Thompson DVM Foundation. We are also delighted to welcome Dr Solange De Noon, a medical pathologist, who will delight us with some genomics of osteosarcomas, Marie-Aude Genain, an imaging specialist, and Owen Davis, a veterinary Oncology specialist, as additional speakers.

The BSVP are delighted to announce this year’s two day autumn meeting:
Reversing the Brain Drain: Neuropathology Goes Global.
This event is bringing together specialists in Veterinary Neuropathology from around the world, together with speakers from veterinary neurology, human medicine and research, to give you two days full of exciting talks across a variety of topics and species.
We start in Australia with Prof. Brian Summers giving us his approach to neuropathology. We travel around the UK and Europe, and then on to the USA to hear the latest update on canine gliomas and meningiomas from Prof. Jey Koehler, with a stop-over in San Diego for a bonus lecture on the latest applications of brain model technology.

Laureen Peters Clinical Pathology Trainee Bursaries
Free BSVP 2021 membership for four clinical pathology trainees (worth £25 each) as a result of a generous gift from Laureen Peters to support clinical pathology residents.

To apply: Please email [email protected] with your name and institution stating that you wish to apply for the bursary. Please also forward an email from your supervisor that confirms your trainee status preparing for a clinical pathology board exam.

Please send all of this information to [email protected] by 23:00 on 3rd Sept to enter, incomplete entries will not be considered.

From the complete entries, four will be drawn at random and successful applicants will be notified on Tues 7th Sept. Clinical pathologists or trainees are also welcome as BSVP members through the normal membership process. See more at www.bsvp.org
