Have you taken the IACP Certified Dog Trainer (CDT) Exam? Becoming IACP certified solidifies knowledge and skill, establishes trust with clients, and builds upon your resume!

The IACP CDT Exam is an assessment that is designed to assess well-rounded Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA) by recognizing a dog’s temperament, how to shape its behavior, and the ability to educate the dog’s owners.

The CDT Exam is a three part process. It requires an initial application, a completed exam portfolio and client references from each case study. The exam is administered by the IACP electronically and applicants can take the exam at their own pace, from home or on a mobile device. The CDT Exam portfolio must be completed and submitted within 12 months of the start date.

We are very excited to introduce our NEW website TOMORROW! We will be migrating from HiveBrite to the new website tomorrow evening. The migration can take awhile and some downtime is to be expected. There are a few things we would like you to know beforehand.

•The website domain will remain the same. Once the new website is LIVE, you will still use IACPdogs.org to access our page.

•Within the next few days, you will be receiving an email asking you to reset your IACP login password. Please follow the instructions to reset your password for the new website. Review and update the information in your profile. If you do not see the email, please check your spam and junk folders.

•The current IACP Directory (www.iacpdirectory.com) will not be accessible following our migration. The IACP Directory will be integrated into our website for easier access for all.

•There are some sections of the website that are still under construction and they will be updated soon in addition to new pages and information.

•We ask for your patience as we switch over to the new website. While we are very excited for this change and have prepared as best as we can, we are aware that with change, technical errors can follow. If you notice any website bugs or errors, please email [email protected]. Please hang in there with us within the next few days as we introduce a new website that is more user friendly, accessible, and beneficial to our membership!

Now available! Former IACP President, Tracy Atkins, presentation at the 2024 IACP Annual Conference titled "Decision Matrix" is available for viewing!

"Decisions, Decisions... Making the "right" decision, especially when it carries significant weight, can feel overwhelming or even paralyzing.

Some people may find the process easier but struggle with the consequences of poorly chosen decisions. Strategic problem-solving is essential, whether in business or in the art of dog training, grooming, and care. In this lecture, students will learn how to make faster, better decisions based on facts and reason. The time spent and stress experienced when considering alternative solutions with uncertain outcomes, while trying to avoid high-risk consequences, can be exhausting. Don't let decision-making paralyze you. Instead, train yourself to make better and faster choices."
