Introducing the IACP's newest addition to our Board of Directors: Sarina Samson! 🎉

Sarina lives in Playa Sámara, Guanacaste, Costa Rica where she owns Pura Vida Pup! She has been a member of the IACP since 2020. Sarina is a holistic trainer with FCC (Federación Canina de Costa Rica), LEGS Applied Ethology Family Dog Mediaton (FDM), and Cynopraxis-LIMA (CYNX-L) certifications, she is a life-long learner who continually expands her knowledge of animal training and behavior.

“When I'm not teaching my own pets to paddle board or ride motorcycles in Costa Rica, I coach pet parents all over the world, support local animal rescue organizations, and provide emergency transportation for injured animals to the wildlife rescue center. Following my passion, coaching people and pets, led me to realize that dog trainers and veterinarians suffer from the same mental health challenges faced by other helping professionals. So I created Pura Vida Pup relaxation retreats to help my colleagues alleviate the pressures of daily life, relieve stress, and prevent burnout. By nurturing dog professionals of all backgrounds with revitalizing experiences in nature and a supportive environment, I hope to contribute to a stronger, more cohesive community of people dedicated to improving the lives of dogs - and the people who love them.”

By joining the Board of Directors, Sarina hopes to contribute to the growth of the IACP, will support the organization in any way she is called to, and hopes to help develop an ever-expanding global community dedicated to enhancing the lives of both dogs and their owners.

Everyone give a big, warm welcome to Sarina! 🌺

Introducing the IACP's new Secretary: Rachelle Yates! 🎉

Rachelle has been a member of the IACP since 2014 but has been in the animal feild since 2007. She lives in Van Alstyne, Texas where she owns K9 Revolution.

“As a child, I always knew I had two very specific callings. To be a mother and to work with animals. I grew up with plethora of animals and a strong passion and connection to animals, always wanting to understand them better and learn more about them. I dove into so many different avenues of the animal world with hands on experience (vet tech, kennel tech, surgery with a specialist, marine, equestrian, animal therapy, exotics at the zoo, rescue) and my heart kept leading me back to behavior and helping those with special needs. Several family dogs (including my own personal Italian greyhound) played a part in my desire to discover and address different behavior issues. I left for college on track and with hopes of going to vet school, but had a radical shift while in school that lead me in a different direction. I started at Baylor University then took some time off. It was during that time off that I experienced animals on a different level personally. The energy of animals is incredibly healing, and I wanted to be a part of that. Somehow. I just wasn’t sure how yet. However, I still wanted to explore my options. I later transferred and graduated Cum Laude from University of North Texas with a BAS in Psychology and Spanish (studied in Spain) and a minor in Biology and then later decided to experience an intensive hands on trade school (Highland Canine) and continued learning through a variety of professional trainers to help me develop into the trainer I am today.”

Rachelle’s love and connection for animals, personal experience with animals/dogs and family dogs with behavior issues is what inspired her to get into dog training.
“It’s a connection like no other and I wanted to help people in their journeys with their dogs to better understand them and live more peacefully.”

Rachelle joined the Board to be part of a voice of change for the better, connect with other professionals, continued growth, strong community, and to be a part of a united group in the dog training world

Let's give a big welcome to Rachelle in the comments!

Introducing the IACP's newest addition to our Board of Directors: Dominic Goetz! 🎉

Dominic joined the IACP in 2021 to deepen his knowledge and expertise in canine training. Dominic lives in Nuremberg, Bavaria, Germany! As the previous chair of the European Members Committee, Dominic is eager to represent the voice of the European members within the BOD.

From a very young age, Dominic has been emerged in the german dog sport culture. In 2015, Dominic became a certified IGP helper in Germany. He has participated in over 100 national and international trials. Many of the dogs he has trained have compete on the German National level. He has now transitioned his focus to teaching others the slowly fading art of german dog training. He also continues to further his education by studying dog psychology. Since 2022, Dominic is a NePoPo Gold Graduate, Gold Multiplicator (GM003) and professional dog trainer for pet dogs, specialized in behavior modification. He also trains and prepares K9’s for the german police and works as a decoy for the local police agency. In 2023, Dominic started to compete in Mondioring and became a certified Decoy. Dominic currently has 3 active competing working dogs.

“Ever since I can remember, I've always had a deep affection for dogs. Growing up with several canine companions, I developed a profound bond with them, experiencing firsthand joy they bring into our lives. Ultimately, my inspiration to train dogs stems from a combination of my love for training, helping others and competing in dog sports and overcoming challenges”

Let's give a big welcome to Dominic in the comments!

Introducing the IACP's newest addition to our Board of Directors: Coreena Breazeale! 🎉

Coreena is the visionary founder and lead dog trainer of ReviveK9 Dog Training. Coreena's lifelong dedication to animals has taken her on an extraordinary journey from the ranches of Oregon, through service in the US Coast Guard, to becoming a professional dog trainer.

Coreena's deep connection with animals began in her childhood on her grandparents' ranch. Volunteering at a local animal hospital solidified her passion, initially leading her to aspire to become a veterinarian. However, an unforeseen injury during her Coast Guard service altered her course. It was then that the station mascot, Gibbet, rekindled her love for animals and inspired her to pursue dog training.

After college, Coreena seized the opportunity to become a Professional Dog Trainer. Immersing herself in canine behavior studies, she devoured books, podcasts, audiobooks, and engaged in forums. Years of dedication and invaluable experiences with talented trainers culminated in the founding of ReviveK9, a testament to her commitment to enhancing the lives of dogs and their owners.

Coreena joined the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP) Board because she loves community and wants to create a sense of belonging for dog trainers. She resonates with IACP’s mission of encouraging responsible dog ownership, including education and support for canine health care, training, breeding, management, and husbandry. Coreena firmly believes in continued education for professionals and creating opportunities for growth.

She is excited to step into this role and hopes to make a meaningful impact that the IACP membership can be proud of. We are very excited to have her on our Board! Let's give a big welcome to Coreena in the comments!
