These rescue horses crack us up on the regular, for the record Tommy (and all the horses) have lots of access to shade and fresh clean water. Tommy just likes a sunbathe 🙄☀️
Meet Freddie! Freddie is an absolute sweetheart, he was part of a street pack looked after by a community member. They noticed that Freddie was getting very sick very fast and asked us to do what we could. We immediately took him in and started his chest infection treatment. He likely got it from his TVT which he is undergoing chemotherapy for. Freddy is an absolute trooper and is taking it all in his stride 💪 He has a very long way to go but he is already doing so much better. Please keep this wonderful boy in your thoughts and prayers!

Come with us while we fly five rescued street dogs across the Atlantic to their new homes in Guernsey 🇬🇬.
After months of preparations and lots of hard work from the team here at Yum Kaax, @zoomascotacampeche , @granosdearenacampeche , and on the other side of the Atlantic our friends in Guernsey(/Poppy’s parents), it is time to go.
Buckle up for a rather long journey. 💺
The dogs begin their day blissfully unaware of what is to come as they are all washed and prepped, while the documents have their final check. We all then head to the airport and check the dogs in. Unfortunately Campeche was rather hot and even though we had a cold front, the tarmac was a few degrees away from the limit for dogs flying (35’C). The team waited with crossed fingers and toes for the final verdict. 🥵🔥✈️ Meanwhile, our friends in Guernsey are figuring out another final leg as the ferry there is being cancelled due to bad weather. 🌊⛈️⛴️
Luckily, the “cold” front keeps the temperature slightly below the limit so we are off 🛫. Upon arrival in Mexico City, we go to find the exportation office and the dogs are all checked over and the final paperwork is signed (allowing them to leave the country). Then it is time for the dogs to have dinner and go burn off some steam. We head out to the dog area and meet a friend who helps feed, exercise, toilet, and entertain the pups. As it gets later, we say our goodbyes and head inside to find a spot to rest until check-in opens. 💤 After making some friends the pups settle down and zonk out while Honey sits and watches over them. ⚔️
Before long it is time to start again. After a quick run around and wee break, it is time to head to check the dogs in! The crates are rebuilt and the dogs are prepped for travel. We are checked in with a lot more paperwork and we are taken to the dog departure area. Making some more friends along the way, they are all secured in, and we fly over the Atlantic. It is a lon

These two pups were found this morning, the little black pup was frantically running around the busy highway terrified. Once he was caught our team found another, the little light brown pup, weak and exhausted in the bushes next to the road. They were taken to the vet for check ups.
These pups are covered in ticks and scars, but are currently being medically bathed, medicated, pampered, and given lots of tasty food full of the nutrients they need. They are already starting to come out of their shells, wagging their tails and paying attention to us. They need a lot of rest and nutrients but for now they are SAFE. Check in tomorrow to find out their vet results and find out how they are settling in.
We rescued these pups today because if we wouldn’t they would now be dead, and we want to do everything we can to give them their best lives come what may.
To make this world a better place we need people to ENGAGE, for sure with street dogs, but also with the environment, and their neighbors, and their communities. This can mean supporting people doing good work (we do our very best to be these people) but there are also thousands of other small organisations out there. Get out and meet them, see how you can help, volunteer your time, get involved - it will change your life.

Having a quiet and separate space is so important and helpful for new rescues that need quarantining, special medical attention and a place to build up strength before they can meet the rest of the rescue family we have here. It will also be very useful for determining new animals’ needs, traumas, handling and socialising levels, and more before they join the others, keeping them and the other animals safer, this is especially crucial with dogs. 🐾
This will be beneficial for all species (horses, goats, sheep, pigs, dogs, and the tortoise 🐢)
Where we can we will use recycled materials but the infrastructure alone costs £1000 which doesn't include manpower, we have already made a big dent into this but we have a long way to go. The sooner we can raise this the sooner we have his necessary space for new rescues. Any donations or sponsors small or large will go a long way to make sure we have this space ready to use as soon as possible 🤍 If you are unable to donate, please share this and get your friends and family to share this!
