Sunny Valley Urban Farm grows all of our products on site at our urban farm in Salisbury, PA in Allentown metro area, minutes from Bethlehem.

We use no chemicals at all in our production and strive to have the cleanest, purest harvest of produce.

Things have been quiet here but we’ve been busy around the farm. Here’s some homemade sourdough bread along with homemade strawberry jam from last summer’s garden strawberries we had frozen in the freezer! 🍓

Pepper season is here and rolling. Here’s a few up for the chopping block. Varieties include: cayenne, jalapeño, Hungarian wax, bell, poblano.

It’s wild berry season!! Check out some of your local trails and take a container!! We’ve picked a few pounds so far while walking our dog at a local park.

Our chickens are an important part of the farm’s ecosystem and they needed an upgraded home! We purchased this prebuilt a few months ago. It has helped us harness the power of our chickens’ grass clearing, fertilizing, and grazing abilities. Every few days we lower the wheels and move the tractor to a new section of grass so they can graze safely without predator attacks! Our eggs have been healthier and more vibrant since implementing this on the farm. It has also helped us clear patches of grass to make new rows for fruits and veggies.

Little outdoor chicken tractor for our hens to graze but be protected. They used to free graze until we had a hawk take out two of our birds a few months ago. This helps us with the garden fertilization and helps the chickens get fresh scratch and grub!

The power of growing your own! We haven’t bought peppers and a few other vegetables in years since we harvest and preserve our crops! We’re down to our last bag of 2021 peppers from the freezer, but no worries, the 2022 peppers are here and thriving 🌱☀️ 🌞

More peppers in today and the garlic and strawberries received a much needed weeding. The we have 4 or 5 rows producing and the other 4-5ish rows are full of weeds and overgrowth since we’ve been so busy with our full time jobs. In due time we will get them sorted! Happy to get some time out in the farm today! ☀️😃🌱 🌞

The farmer and the chef, a perfect combination!! My wife is definitely the master chef and baker here, check out her sourdough loafs 😍 Healthier bread without any sugar, yeasts or preservatives.

Our grow rack has sprouts 😍🌱 San Marzanos are starting, along with tomatillos, other varieties of tomatoes, and peppers. Next is getting some onion starts in!! 🌱 We can’t wait for spring to arrive!!

New addition to the farm is the Rhode Island Red hen from our friends, Cody & Rachel! All of her flock mates were taken out by either hawks or raccoons so we took her in when Cody & Rachel offered! It took some adjusting but she’s part of the gang now ☀️🐔
