Labrador Retrievers bred for wonderful temperament, sound conformation and working ability in the field. Our pedigrees contain many dual titled Labradors (Champion/Master Hunters) as well as NFCs, NAFCs, and several Hall of Fame dogs. We believe in a well rounded Labrador that has correct breed conformation, strong retrieving and prey drive, and a temperament that makes for a perfect family companion in the home.

Grouse Camp 2025 has come and gone. I already miss the company, the birds and the north woods. But its good to be home (and get a shower).

The birds were TOUGH (as always), but we managed to win a few battles. Kansas was an absolute Rockstar for me. I lost tract but I'm certain she had well over 20 legit, good grouse points, and a dozen or more woodcock. The puppies made progress. Boz's Bella was a Camp champ with a bunch of birds to her credit. Ruckus was a total grouse menace as always.

Thanks Boz, Sax, Loon, and Jaybird for yet another awesome Camp.

Already planning for next year. 🧡

What a beautiful day in the North Woods. 50⁰, 50%humidity, crystal blue sky, yellow aspen leaves falling.

Tired pups and grouse for dinner.

Not much better.

Our Labradors get most of the love here and to be honest they are way easier to get pictures of than our two black bullet GSPs that never stop moving, except to point birds.

However, the Pointer girls had a great weekend, but finishing mostly just outside of the placement podium. Scott and Kansas got a 5th place in a 20 dog Open Pointing trial and Scott and Faith got a 4th in Amateur Pointing. But Lori put some Amateur Pointing Championship points on ThornValley 's Leap of Faith with a 2nd place Amateur finish today. Lori also got a 5th in Open with Kansas. 🖤 🖤

Team ThornValley had a fun day yesterday at the Fairbank Rod and Gun Club running United Field Trialers Association trials.

Ms. Sunshine Madeline got a hard earned 3rd Place in Flushing Doubles in a 35 dog trial against some amazing dogs.

Lori lead the team with lights out shooting all day! 💛

Congrats to our good friends Travis and Courtney Schnitzler (Stillwaters Gundogs) their super girl Penny for their 2nd place finish and an amazing run! And congrat to Travis and Octavia for their Amateur placement!

Congrats Matt Chapman Hardy Hill Gun Dogs with Coal and their first place finish in this Doubles and thanks again Matt for hosting a great trial!
