Some good news: Remember Bingbong and B**gbing? The sweet and friendly B**g Brothers have been adopted by the same person, so now they don't ever have to part 😍💖✨

Bingbong was adopted first, while B**gbing soon followed after being treated for a wound he got in the streets. We thank everyone who followed their story and shared our post so they could find the perfect family 😺😸😽

We're back after an extended hiatus mourning the loss of our sweet Milky Boi. It has been tough for us because this is our first time handling a case like Milky's 😞😿

For transparency reasons, we shall disclose that the funds that remained after Milky's vettings at Vetfocus Care Animal Clinic were used for his cremation (Furbies Pet Care Services - Sariaya), with a small amount donated to The Cat House and Red Cubs Pet Patrol to pay the kindness forward.

We hope that Milky's story, although sad, will inspire more people to show kindness and compassion to stray animals and organizations who are trying to make a difference. We will never forget you, Milky 🌈

It is with a heavy heart that we announce Milki Boy's passing today, Aug. 27, 2024 at 6pm. He was a good boy, a fighter boy, until the end. Run free, Milky 🌈 Let us remember him as the handsome boy he was before he got sick. Love you, Milk 😿

All remaining collections will be donated to other cats in need/rescue organizations of our choice. Thank you

Yayy!! Milky has recovered from his infections 😺 However, he is still very underweight and anemic. We are thankful to everyone who helped him. We believe that he is on the right path to recovery. Please continue keeping him in your thoughts and sending good vibes 🎉😻😽

If you visit Memento Tattoo & Piercing Studio or Slash Restaurant, you would often see one or both of them hanging out. No one really owns them and we are concerned that they might get hurt living in the streets. They're both very cuddly, with Bingbong being more vocal. We need people with experience handling former street cats who prefer an indoor-outdoor setup until they fully acclimate. Please give these good boys a chance.

On National Aspin Day, let's reflect on the state of our very own Aspins (also called A*o, Iro, Ido, and Ayam). Our ancestors celebrated them in epics, legends, and myths. Chronicler Fr. Francisco Ignacio Alcina, SJ wrote in 1668 about the intense “regard” our ancestors had for their ayam (dog), which, according to him was “perhaps greater than among any other peoples in the world.” He also said our ancestors preferred owning an Aspin than a foreign breed.

But this is history already. Time has changed. Aspins are often neglected, unwanted, and discriminated. In 1977, the late Gilda Cordero-Fernando wrote about how miserable a Philippine native dog compared to other dogs with pedigree: "Who has not seen him yapping and scrapping in the street, ear chewed up, a necklace of ticks around his neck, the curse of poodle owners in the neighborhood, disreputable father of illegitimate pups?"

Celebrate this day by changing the destiny of an Aspin (and Puspin) on the street and in the neighborhood. Or help our modern-day heroes--the animal welfare advocates and rescuers--decongest their animal sanctuaries by adopting one.

Every dog deserves a loving Filipino home.
