I feel like Rikki is never coming back and I'm stuck here with this silly Donkey. Rikki Where are YOU! (note from Cookie Lady: Rikki is getting hitched to cart training at Janet's house. We hope for him to be back and driving early in January. We are working our way toward a matched team with Chesnee. Won't that be a blast. Then he won't complain about hauling two fat ladies around in the cart. Donkey misses Rikki very much! too!!)

This is Cookie Lady. Chesnee was such a champion at the Waynesville Downtown Assoc. Christmas parade last night. We put bells on his harness saddle and hips, more strapped around his feet and on the breast collar of his harness. Lights in his mane. We dressed him up and decorated at 4:30. Just as we drove for our spot in line. A dog was loose in the parking lot and ran at him barking, under his back feet barking. Chesnee didnt bolt, stomp or buck. He didnt fleck a hair. Marching bands, kids running everywhere. The front of the parade started at 6pm. We waited in line from 5 until after 7pm to go. He was so brave. The route was up hill. 146 entries in the parade over 2 hours long. We were going for about an hour. Sometimes I walked. Sometimes Jill walked. Baby Judith loved it. Im so proud of him

Its been a busy month. RIKKI, Donke and I went to the fair. Something happened to Cookie Lady, Ms Jill said cardiac arrest. We thought we might never see her again. We went to stay with Ms Janet for a few days aster Rikki got a stomach ache. He worries so much. Ms Jill cane and got us. We were glad to be home. Cookie Lady was there. She moves a bit slower these days. We miss her. There was a big storm that blew trees down in our field. Neighbor Earl helped cut them up and get our fence back up. We've been munching on chestnuts. Yum.

I had the nice vet come check me out. Couple of stings but Im fine. Cookie lady is having trouble finishing the stories about me. She is having trouble capturing my fineness in her drawings.

The boys got their vaccinations to be ready for the Farm Animal Viewing Exhibit at the Haywood County Fair Aug 24 to 27. Honey B Chesnee might even be in the horse show on Fri night

Big Big things are happening in the field this week. Cookie Lady built two pony stalls for me and Rikki. The shavings are soft and sweet smelling. Rikki keeps getting in the stall I like better, so I lay down outside the stall and don't let him out

There is a big yellow tractor in our pasture. Cookie Lady Mowed in the dark last night. She's a crazy Cookie Lady! Maybe a Kookie Cookie Lady. LOL Chesnee.

Yes, dear Chesnee! Readers, two Chesnee books are on the computer in final draft: The Spotted Pony and As Big As The Sky. These are designed as children's picture books and beginning/early readers. Illustrations are underway! C.L.

Gaghhhh there is white stuff everywhere on the ground. And this irritating Rikki thing the Cookie Lady brought home follows me everywhere. Except when he goes in the barn and eats the hay that C.L. put in there. I'm not sure I like him. But I had to admit that it was a good idea to go in the barn when this white stuff was dropping from the sky.

Rikki Tikki Tavi is what they call him. Sometimes Rikki and Chesnee sound just alike so I come running for cookies. Then I have to chase this Rikki pony away from the Cookie Lady

There have been big things happening on the farm. Nellie was taken away in the trailer and a new friend was brought back. It is like looking in the creek at myself. We ran and played and ate sweet grass in the sunshine. https://www.facebook.com/jillern/videos/10101062881184822/

It is spring and Cookie Lady made me go to work. Last weekend we went down the road to where the cows are. They are black on each end and white in the middle. I pulled the Cookie Lady and her friends in the cart all around, over miles and miles of trails. I was really tired when the day was over. I did like the pets and hugs from Cookie Lady telling me how wonderful I was. This past Sunday the little person came over and I gave her a cart ride up and down the road. When I trot she giggles sometimes. It was a lot easier with the little person in the cart. Nellie doesn't know what she is missing.

Our new field and barn. Cookie Lady brought hay today. I was so happy, Nellie and I ran outside the gate and cantered all around the open field next door. Cookie Lady got rather upset by our fun. I'm not sure why? We came home to sweet hay and fresh water. I even got a little bit of crumbly crunchies when she caught me. Yum

Exciting news. I have moved to a new pasture. The grass is lush even for this time of year. Nellie is with me. We see the cookie lady a lot more often. A fox ran through my pasture this week. I chased him to play but he ran away.

I've been back out on the pasture with the big horses and Nellie. Days are a little cooler. It's nice to stand in the creek and nibble on the sweet grass next to the water.

I was in a PARADE! There were horses everywhere! And people saying "Aww Look at the PONY!" Cookie Lady said I did GOOD

I've been stabled at the fairgrounds for the County Fair. It was pretty strange. All kinds of animals, noisy animals around me. Moo, Baaa, Quack, Cluck, People Sounds, EHawwww, Whinny, machine sounds, trucks, cars, tractors, and other things. And the smells, so many smells, some good and some not so good. It was all too much at times. But after a couple of days, it didn't seem so strange anymore. I made new friends, Kristina, Tom, and Friendly the Cow. Now the Fair is over and it seems so quiet with everyone gone. I will be going back to the pasture soon to see my friend Nellie . I will tell her all about the Fair.

Cookie lady and I had an exciting time last night. She called it a horseshow. I pulled the cart around the big ring at the fairgrounds. There were people everywhere looking at me. I was pretty nervous at times. But Cookie Lady told me I was a good boy and I started to listen to her more than all the scary things that were bothering me.
