On this day before Thanksgiving, we’re feeling extra grateful for the things pitties bring into our lives — the smiles, the silliness, the loyalty, and the love that fills our homes (and our hearts). 💚🐾

Giving Tuesday is just 11 days away! 💚🐾
On December 2, 2025, we hope you’ll mark your calendar and keep APBF in mind as you consider where to give this season.

Your support fuels rescue, advocacy, and our Operation Sidekick program — helping pit bulls and the people who love them, every single day.

If our mission has touched your heart this year, we’d be honored to be part of your Giving Tuesday plans. 💚
Together, we can change more lives than ever.

🍂🍁 November is Pet Cancer Awareness Month, and awareness can truly change outcomes. 💚🐾

Cancer affects 1 in 4 dogs, but for dogs over the age of 10, the number jumps to 1 in 2.
It’s the leading cause of death in older dogs — which makes knowing the signs more important than ever.

Swipe through to learn what to watch for, what’s normal (and what’s not), and how early detection can protect the dogs we love — pitties included.

Check them. Know them. Love them longer.

Meet Lyra! 🐾💚
This 40-lb bundle of love is a bright, gentle pit bull mix with a heart as big as her smile. She’s the kind of dog who makes everyone feel welcome — from playful pups at daycare to shy new friends who just need a little reassurance.

Lyra loves her walks, her naps, and her people. She’s crate-trained, working hard on her potty skills, and has the sweetest, easygoing energy. 💚
Oh — and she’s great with kids!

If you’re looking for a loyal, happy companion who brings joy wherever she goes, Lyra might just be your perfect match.

Today and every day, we honor our veterans. 🇺🇸💚
Through our Operation Sidekick program, rescued pit bulls like Bennett are trained as service dogs to support veterans living with PTSD — creating healing, strength, and connection on both ends of the leash. 🐾 Operation Sidekick

This is Bennett and his partner, Nic — a reminder that rescue is not one-sided.
They show us what it looks like when loyalty meets purpose, and when love becomes service.

To all who have served, and to all who continue to serve —
Thank you.
Your sacrifice and your courage do not go unnoticed. 💚

Today is National Canine Lymphoma Awareness Day.
Lymphoma is one of the most common cancers in dogs — including pit bulls — and the early signs can be subtle.

Important note: Pit bulls are not more likely to develop lymphoma than most other breeds.
But like all medium-to-large dogs, staying aware of changes and catching symptoms early truly makes a difference. 💚

This quick checklist is one to save + refer back to.
Trust your gut. You know your dog’s “normal.” 🐾

Still thinking about our sweet senior pitizens 💚🐾
As dogs age, their needs shift — but the love only grows.
Here are a few small ways to make life extra cozy for your senior pittie:

• Softer bedding + a warm spot to nap
• Slower, shorter walks — but more sniff breaks
• Gentle play + mental enrichment
• Regular vet checkups
• Lots of touch + reassurance

Little adjustments make a big difference in their golden years.

November is National Senior Pet Month 🐾💚
Senior pitties have a calm, steady kind of love that just hits differently.
They don’t ask for much — just a soft place to rest, a gentle routine, and someone to call their own.
