This 4 week old crew, had their first afternoon beginning training session in the grass today, to learn about the new weird feelings grass does to their body. Only one puppy, “Chevelle” tried the taste so far, though this field trip resulted in a long nap with some milk for them all! Tomorrow we are going to do another mini training session in the grass and are going to work on walking around in the open supervised by us, as well as their mom, Aspen, to help get these guys some more balance as their still pretty wobbly. We still have a few boys and girls waiting for their new homes, contact us if Interested in bringing one of these cuties home in late September!

Results from our first time using the incubator with eggs we imported out of the farm. We received 6 adorable baby’s out of 12, 4 Rhode Island’s, 2 Black Copper Maran’s. 1 of the Rhode Island’s died in early embryonic stage, as well as the other died on day 16 in incubation. 2 Marans weren’t fertile, 1 died in early veining stage day day 4/7 and one of the marans was full term but unfortunately didn’t make it due to head placement in egg, and unfortunately couldn’t pip to began hatching. Sometimes chicks don’t unfortunately make it to hatching as it is one of the 2 hardest things for a bird to do in their life. But fortunately we did have some results and learned a lot to began doing more incubation in future. I’m going to be posting a few more videos to follow from our hatch.

Chicks are starting to crack this morning!! Can’t wait to see the babies out of the shells! We will keep y’all posted!
