Djinn has his CHIC. That makes him the second Saluki to have it, and his last litter is the first litter to be born with two CHIC parents.

This is the last test that was needed for Djinn's CHIC. We had to process it a couple of times due to a shipping problem, and we also had a wait a little bit right off the bat because he had just updated his shots. The CHIC program was instituted for the Saluki breed while the puppies were already in utero -- hence the last requirements being met after they were born.

Just the girls today. The boys are on a field trip to get exposure to small dogs and cats. They are 7 weeks tomorrow.

The puppies had around a dozen visitors this weekend of all backgrounds. They also got to meet loads of kids on Halloween (we put them up by the door). Next weekend will be their temperament test and more visitors.

I'm pleased to say that Salukis now have a CHIC program as of yesterday. It will be a little while before any Salukis start getting their CHIC numbers because the SSADHD test was just added to OFA yesterday as well.

Jazz does appear to be pregnant, so we should be expecting puppies at the end of September. More information is available on my website.

Update: Pan has a placement pending and will be leaving in a few weeks.

We have a male 15 month old Saluki who will be available for re-home in the coming weeks. He is coming back to North Carolina for a full assessment. He is a friendly & outgoing dog; he loves children. He does struggle with being in a crate for extended periods of time and might need some work with this if the new owner intends on crating him while away; he might do best in a dog-safe room instead. He is house trained and gets along with other dogs. He has not been cat tested at this time, but will be cat tested in the coming days. He is looking for a companion home, but might enjoy activities like rally/obedience/agility. He does need a fenced yard of at least 5ft+, but preferably 6ft. Djinn was recently BOS at the Central New Jersey Hound Association under Jerry Klein. He was also Select dog at the Garden State Saluki Specialty that day as well under Kenneth Levinson. He got an Award of Merit the following day at a second Garden State Saluki Club Specialty under Clair Cryssoler, but we did not get a photo of that win unfortunately.

Planning a litter out of Jazz this summer. Jazz is GCH Hayat Sarea All Y'allah. Her health testing (echo, eyes, NCL) is public on the OFA website except for thyroid (due to a mistake, but she was tested via MSU and I have that document available upon request). Also tested clear for SSADHD, but OFA did not have a scheme at the time for reporting that information.
