Happy 1st birthday to Sophie and Steele's last litter! We can't believe they are a year old already! We had Ash (Luca), Cedar ( Buster), Willow(Izzy), Timber (Bodie), Forest (Bruno), Aspen ( Maggie), Salym (Luna), Holly (El), & Oak (Braven). Last night was the last night all of the puppies were together. Today5 will go with their new families and more on Saturday and Sunday. It sure will be quiet around here without them. We will miss their sweet kisses and cuddles, but we are very excited for the new families. Chandler gave them all baths last night so they were all cuddled together, and 2 were inside the small kennel. Guess they were enjoying each other's body heat.

Hi everyone! My name is Ash, and I just turned 8 weeks old on Saturday. Can you believe that I'm still available for a forever family??? I thought 2x that I had found my new family, but due to no fault of my own, those individuals weren't able to have me after all. I'm hoping that a forever person/family will decide that they can't resist this adorable face before this upcoming weekend because that's when my littermates will be leaving to go to their new families. I would make a great companion for someone. I love to play, I like to make sounds like my mom, I love to play outside, and I also like to snuggle up. If you are interested in me or know of someone, please have them contact Kirsten. I hope to give my forever person lots of kisses soon!

Oak has been officially renamed to Braven. He will be trained to become a service dog through Partners for Patriots. This agency does not charge the veteran any money for the service dog. He does need a puppy raiser who is willing to keep him for 18-24 months and do the training that he needs. He will stay with us until a puppy raiser is available.

We got some exciting news on Saturday about 2 of our puppies, Timber and Oak. Pam Long who is a trainer at the Good Dog Center in Decorah, completed the Volhard Puppy Apptitude Test on the two puppies when they were 49 days old. I only had these 2 assessed because they were not spoken for yet, and I wanted to see what opportunities might be available to them. Timbers score indicated that he has great potential to become a certified therapy dog,like his Dad Steele. Oak's score indicated that he has the potential to become a service dog. We were so pleased with results. We are hoping that Timber will be chosen by someone who wants to become his partner in a therapy team and be his Handler. The joy a certified therapy dog can bring to so many people is amazing! We will be looking for an organization that will take Oak and train him to become a service dog so that he can can help someone live a much fuller life. I believe that several of the other puppies in the litter have the potential to be therapy dogs as well if their new families choose to do the training with their puppy. One of the other male puppies, Ash, who had been chosen already so we didn't do the test on, has become available again, due to health issues for who was to be his new perso. Ash and Timber have very similar temperaments so I believe he too could become a therapy dog. We truly want our puppies to help individuals and families so please reach out to me if you are interested in either Timber or Ash. Timber is the puppy with straight hair in the pictures and Ash is the one being held like a baby.

It was moving day for the puppies on Sunday. They needed more space, so they are now in a big pen in our kitchen. They are the central part of our lives so they might as well be in the central part of the house! The great part of them being in the kitchen is that they get used to all the noises a typical family makes, such as a blender running, vacuuming, garbage disposal running, banging of pots and pans etc. We also play fireworks, thunderstorms & city noises from YouTube to help desensitize the puppies to those noises. At this point, the puppies just sleep through the noises. We introduced them to the puppy pool on Sunday & Monday. They are getting to explore different flooring to walk on and new items everyday. It's hard to believe they are 4 and a half weeks old already. If you or someone you know could really benefit from getting a puppy that could possibly be a therapy dog, please contact me. Genetically, these puppies have great lines, and with the training we are doing with them, there is great potential for them.

These little ones are 3 weeks old already, and they are growing! They don't care how Sophie is laying, they will get the milk. This week they were introduced to a litter box in their whelping box and are learning where to go potty so they can keep their sleeping/playing area clean. They also got started on some soggy dog food, so it's great that they are learning to use the litter box. This week is the start of exposing the puppies to many new things and people to help them learn to how to regulate after some change in their environment. We are also working on startle response with them so they learn how to calm down quickly. At this age, they don't have fear so they will calm down quickly after a startle. This will help them as adults to handle situations that are new to them far better, and if they feel fear, they will calm themselves more quickly. The puppies are 2 weeks old today! We have been doing Early Neurological Stimulation on them since they were 4 days old as we use the Puppy Culture training program with the puppies. We will continue to provide developmentally appropriate challenges for the puppies each week until they are ready for their new homes. Some of the puppies are still available so if you are interested please PM for more information. If you are wanting a dog that has the temperament and personality, with training, to become a certified therapy dog, several of these puppies will meet those requirements. If you are wanting a dog to cuddle with, have around young children safely, or do a variety of activities with, all of these puppies will meet your needs.

It finally happened...Sophie had her puppies yesterday morning! She had 9 puppies, 5 boys 4 girls. The cream colored puppy is a girl but is not for sale. The girls are: Ginger-pink (not for sale), Holly-purple, Aspen-teal, Willow-orange.
Boys are: Forest-brown, Cedar-blue, Oak- yellow
Timber-green,& Ash-gray. These puppies will have dew claws removed, 1st set of vaccinations, health checked, and dewormer started. We will be using The Puppy Culture program with these puppies, which will help in neurological development, build their confidence, foundation for potty training, kennel training, walking on a leash, and learning to sit for attention rather than jumping, desensitization for noises, and helping their forever family to have the kind of puppy they desire. The puppies are raised in our home, and have the attention of my two children, my husband, and myself. The puppies will be ready for their forever family when they are 9 weeks old, which is August 20th. When they are 6 weeks old, families will pick their puppy. Both parents have been genetically tested, & hips cleared. Sophie has certification as Advanced Canine Good Citizen, and Steele is a Certified Therapy Dog. Please PM me for more information. The last two pictures are of Steele ( stud) who is an English cream goldendoodle, and weighs 88lbs. Sophie weighs 50lbs.

Sophie and Steele got some very exciting news today...the vet believes there are 8 puppies! She said there could be at least one more that is hiding behind one of the others, which happened in her two other pregnancies. She could deliver any day now, and by the looks of it, I think Sophie will be happy to have them out!

Looking for some input from those interested in a puppy. We're trying to decide what dog to use as a stud. Steele is 91lbs or using a 20lb male. Sophie and Steele's puppies ranged in weight from 50lb-140lbs. Sophie & Scout's( stud from 1st litter) ranged in weight from 35lb-50lbs. Sophie is due to go into heat in early May, but has been showing signs she may go earlier.

Happy 1st birthday to these beautiful puppies!
Dasher is now Percy, Blitzen is Remi, Rudy is Rudy, Buddy is Simba, King is Sailor, Glory is Izzy, Joy is Zoey, Noel is Dixie, and Snowy is Nova. Some highlights of this litter is Remi is 127lbs and growing! He is in training to be a service dog for his special person. Izzy is working in the New Hampton school as a therapy dog, and Sailor is working on becoming a therapy dog as well. Zoey loves being on the water with her family. Percy and Simba are bringing lots of love to their families. Rudy was the runt but is nearly 70lbs now, and loves to play with his canine siblings. Dixie used to swing but has now outgrown the infant swing. And Nova loves to find ways to keep her family laughing.

These cuties are almost 4 weeks old! If you're looking for a puppy that has a great temperament, these puppies are for you. Both parents work in an outpatient mental health office. The Dad, is a Certified Therapy Dog, and Mom, has passed her Advanced Canine Good Citizen training.
