Just In from Armenian Gampr Club of America:

Did you guys know there are some fantastic litters posted on the site (some added this week!) from some AGCA Approved Breeders? In order to be listed, each Breeder's Gamprs have been investigated for breed appropriateness, working and physical structure, are Registered and have had at minimum some evaluations.

Breeders also agree to abide by the AGCA Code of Ethics which contains a heck of a lot of important information to agree to, which can also be seen on the site.

If you are looking outside those listed on the site, I implore you to please be sure the dogs are Gampr and appropriate for the breed. It is a hard thing to do and is why we created the Approved Breeder Program to begin with. Unfortunately there are several mixed or breed inappropriate litters in the US lately being promoted as "Gampr" and already this week I've been contacted twice where people have been duped into getting a fighting lines mixed dog.

Also, every breeder should be your mentor or at the very least someone who can help you, answer questions legitimately or take back/actively rehome any dog that doesn't work out, at any time, for the life of the dog. Ask your breeder how and why they decided on certain pairings, how they fit into the gene pool with relatedness, what their goals are as a breeder and how their litter helps conserve the breed. Ask for and actually review the links to their Embark results, OFA, if any, or other evaluations. Ask a lot of questions then ask around elsewhere to validate.

This first boy have a long tail no white tip and the last felmale is the runt she has 1/2 a tail and so far is spoken for.

These are the regular tails with white tips pups. The first two are females the last is a male.

The 11 Pups are growing well! 10 are over 2 1/2 # and the little runt is a mere 1 1/2 # ! They are two weeks old today eyes are beginning to open and they were wormed. 🥰😍🥰😍🥰

This is why we did the rail system inside the whelping box. I have seen three so far that were saved by Solara leaning on the PVC instead of the wall where they are easily smothered. Solara continues to impress with her dedication and care. 😍🥰😍🥰

Solara will be gracing us with puppies very soon! We think we saw at least seven! 😳 Yikes!! Vet said she loved her pelvic structure and her hips look fantastic Hurray !! 😍😍😍 We will do a formal OFA a couple months after she whelps these babies. Whish us luck.

Gamprs are a rare Livestock guardian breed who have the natural instincts to do what almost no other breed can. We chose Gamprs because they are one of the oldest dog breeds in the world, dating back to 14,000+ years ago. Over thousands of years they transformed into what they are today: an extremely sharp shepherd's companion/guardian who values their human and animal relationships on such a deep, primal level that they will sacrifice their life in order to protect them.

They have become a Team. This took a while but training and patience have paid off and now they are Poetry in motion. I love watching them patrol and seeing the bond that has grown. What great dogs!
