Come along for our senior pup, Styles' 12th birthday party at Canine Canyon Sniff Spot! ❤️🐾
First off, if you haven't heard of a "sniffspot" before, it's basically an AirBNB for dogs!!
We decided to rent this yard because it has soooo much space, plus a jungle gym, ball pit, trampoline, treat enrichment centers, 'Stick Station,' and even little doggy-pool! (And misters for the humans! 😜)
Here's what we loved:
🐾→ The hosts decorated the yard for us, and they provided some amazing photo-opp stations plus the CUTEST party hats!
🐾→ Styles & Luka got to sniff EVERYTHING (so many good smells!) and areas to explore.
🐾→ We added an upgrade of some 'Pup Cups' (dog-friendly ice cream) served in these adorable bone dishes!
🐾→ And we added bubbles, too!
We had so much fun & can't wait to be back!

All jokes aside, my biggest realization in my dog training journey is that most times I'm actually the problem.
How I feel, my anxiety, or my predisposed beliefs actually create the reactivity I'm trying to avoid. 😅

✨ Reminder! ✨There is no perfect dog.
Some dogs will need need potty training. Others will need help walking with a leash. Some dogs will be reactive or bark at everything. Some will be anxious and afraid of leaving the house.
The list goes on. . . But the point is, there's no such thing as "perfection" with dogs (or with humans, for that matter 😜).
So, stop assuming the dog you get will always do the right thing. Stop thinking that if you just wait for the "right" one it'll be easier. Stop giving up on a dog just because one tiny thing goes wrong. And stop thinking that the journey will be easy and stress-free.
It won't be, but that is what makes rescuing so rewarding & special!
The bond that you build (through every up and down) will create your incredible redemption story. 👊👊🏿
At the end of the day, there are no "perfect" dogs. . . but there's a perfect one for you.
And that's so stinkin' awesome!

If your dog gets stressed and triggered in outdoor environments, then start inside. If your dog gets stressed inside, then start outside (even if that seems counterintuitive).
