We hit the trails and she had no problem navigating around people and dogs. She loved to sniff and see what was going on around her. She was great in the car, and she has the perfect amount of ✨ caffeine ✨ — energetic, but not too much!

Happy #FieldTripFriday! 💕 This is Penny, a sweet six-year-old girl who's been in and out of the shelter for 2 years. She is playful, spunky, adventurous, and does well around people & kids!
Being a husky, she's energetic but not in a bad way. She'd be perfect for a human/family looking to get exercise, get outdoors, or have fun with.
We went on a new trail today, and after getting a good workout, we ended our field trip with a coffee & pup cup from the Bressi Ranch Bird Rock Coffee Roasters up the street from the shelter!
(I got a cold brew with cream 😋 & she loveeeed every bit of her whipped cream treat! ☕✨)
Now. . . we just need to find her a forever home! ❤️🐾

I took Nemo out for a little pre-holiday adventure. . . which included a decompression walk, a little sweet treat, and time out of the shelter.
It was his FIRST #DogDayOut fieldtrip, so I was unbelievably honored to gift him a Christmas pupcup! 🍦
Nemo is about four years old, and is struggling from kennel stress inside the shelter (which is probably why he's been overlooked). 😭 My hope is that this video can show his sweet, gentle side and why he'd be such a great pet for any family!

I just can't say enough about this special boy! Being a Pittie mix, I immediately had a soft spot for him. He's also just the most gentle and loving dog, right away connecting with me and snuggling up on my shoulder in the car ride!
For our #doggyfieldtrip, we went to a nature trail, followed by a neighborhood walk. He LOVED saying hi to people and getting pets & ear scratches!
Sal is three-years-old, and January 2025 is his one-year mark at the shelter 🥺💔 My dream would be that he gets to break out (for good!) before that one-year mark!!

Brooklyn is our #ShelterSunday feature — a two-year-old Lab-Retriever-Pitty mix with the BEST energy! 💕
This social gal couldn't wait to break out of the shelter and go for our nature walk/hike! From the second we stepped onto the pathway at Rohr Park, she was ready to sniff, crunch in all the leaves, and smile at every dog that passed!
She's a positive girl with NO signs of distress, aggression or reactivity. She is still working on some of her leash manners (she gets too excited to stay on one side of the person walking her!) but that's nothing that can't be worked on. 😄😄
Based on her social personality, I think she'd do great in a family that's active or has other pets for her to be friends with!
She's such a sweetie (and looked SOOO cute in her bandana!). 🥺 If you're interested in learning more about her, just DM us or @San Diego County Animal Services!

This was Luka's first Halloween and despite some initial protests to the Buzz Lightyear wings, all was a success!
He now understands the concept of trick-or-treating, and while he doesn't get why everyone gets treats that he can't, he appreciates the head pets.
