It is important to get puppies out and about to see the world in a safe way before they have all their vaccines on board. You can do this by going to parks, beaches and other busy places and just sitting in the open hatch or door of your car and letting them watch. They don’t have to get out and down on the ground to get the benefit of seeing all the world has to offer.

National Puppy Day is on the horizon!

I just got off the phone with a client whose dog had to go to the emergency room 2 hours away at 10:00pm last night.

Their little dog, after a walk at a popular walking place, started vomiting and acting drugged.

He had to be propped up in the back seat of the car on the drive.

They were terrified.

The emergency vet was crowded and the wait was 4 hours and traumatizing.

By the time the vet saw the dog, the dog was beginning to look better and vomit less. He was given some meds and they were sent home to drive 2 early morning hours in the snow without any answers.

What might have helped them give the vet some more information?

VIDEOS!

Taken when their dog first started to act "drugged" at home, when they had to prop him up in the car and anything else that might have shown the vet what concerned them enough to bring him in that night.

The 2 hour drive and the waiting room time may have been enough time to move whatever it was through his system.

Videos might also help a vet see the progression of deterioration of a condition from the time you left home until you get to the vet.

Videos show the picture that sometimes our verbal descriptions can't.

Just 20 seconds of video is all the vet needs, but it might help the vet determine the care your pet needs quicker.
