Gotta tell you about Riley Joe. He’s been in foster now long enough to shake off much of the shelter scaries. His shy personality is blooming into a sweet boy who is finding his bravery on the daily and is so grateful for this rescued life. Turns out, Riley is a pawfectly potty trained mini Golden Retriever mix who will let you know when he needs to go outside. 💡 He’s young, around 1.5 years and dog friendly with a proper introduction.

Grateful to his foster family .bad.chewydog for stepping up for this guy when he needed them the most. Because of their willingness to help save this life, we now know so much about him and can really advocate in finding him the Forever Home of his dreams. 🏡✨

Our family of 11 continues to fight on! ⁠
⁠
Unfortunately, we're very sad to report that 2 of the kittens, Caboose and Panda, did succumb to their illnesses, despite our best efforts. The other 7 kittens and mommas continue to fight on. ⁠
⁠
Viking and Torpedo, remain asymptomatic and are continuing to thrive with their mothers in foster care. Our kittens in Isolation are also showing signs of improvement! Venus, our little Siamese warrior girl, felt playful for the first time again this morning as she rolled around her bed this morning, as did her brother and current kennel mate, Mars! ⁠

Our amazing orange bonded duo Chuckles and Gogo are also doing great, and no one currently is running a fever. ⁠
⁠
We have high hopes for our seven surviving siblings and their mommas. This is the first time we have gone 48 hours without a hospital visit for this family! ⁠

Happy Friday from Puma!

Don’t let the stink eye fool you, Puma is excited for the weekend and for our upcoming adoption event this Sunday, July 9th 🐾

As a reminder, we will be having an open house to kick off National Adoptions Week, which runs from July 10th to the 16th. Stop by between 10am and 4pm on Sunday (no appointment necessary!) to meet some adoptable cuties. We kindly ask you have an approved adoption application before coming in if you plan on adopting.

Introducing our newest FIV kitties! Meet Fanta, Rajah and Shiloh!

They came in this past Friday from Houston, Texas. FIV cats tend to get over looked in many shelters due to the stigma associated with Feline immunodeficiency virus. FiV cats can live very healthy and normal lives. We're very lucky to provide a space for them here at RMFR where they can go outside!

Marnie has been at RMFR for 234 days, and is still patiently waiting for her forever home!

She is a bit timid, and quick movements can startle her, but she is the absolute sweetest girl who can’t get enough love from staff! She likes to nap in cozy hiding places and would make a wonderful cuddle buddy.

Marnie has a non-life threatening condition which causes one of her eyes to be stuck in place, but it causes no issues and just makes her look cuter! ❤️

We received this amazing adoption update on Crinkle! She has really blossomed since receiving her dental work and getting to her furrever home!

Her adopter says she loves to eat wet food, soft treats, and even kibble. Her mouth has healed beautifully with no concerns! She is extremely cuddly and sings while getting served food. She is super vocal with loud purrs and will paw at you when she wants pets.

Huge thank you to everyone who contributed to her dental work and for those who contribute to our fundraisers! We appreciate each and every one of you! ❤️ We are excited to continue to help more kitties like Crinkle.

Meet JayJay!

JayJay is a handsome and goofy 3 year old boy. This sweetheart has been with us for 158 days! He is a little shy at first but a complete love bug once he realizes you're a friend! He loves naps, chin scratches, and treats.

JayJay is currently with one of our amazing fosters as he awaits his fur-ever home. He would do best in a quieter home where he can fully blossom into his wonderful self. JayJay does well with other cats and even cuddled with them at the rescue!

Sweet Ames is looking for his purr-fect match! ☃️🎄 He has a reduced adoption fee during Bissell Pets Empty the Shelters Event!

Ames is a handsome 7 month old grey kitty who is as sweet as can be! He is a little timid and would appreciate if you let him sniff your hand before being pet! He likes to sometimes talk with a quiet and cute meow!

Ames enjoys treats, pets, sunbathing, playing, naps, and being the staff's shadow! He is a very polite kitty who will follow us around as we clean Library! Waiting for some pets or watching curiously!

Whats better than one cat? Two cats! Sweet Habanero and Chili are looking for a home still! 🐈❤️

Habanero (calico, female) and Chili (orange, male) are 10 month old siblings who have been with us for over 215 days (nearly their whole life:() They are super scared here at the shelter and spend most of their day hiding. These gorgeous siblings just need a home where they can feel safe!

They enjoy pets, treats, and cozy beds. They need a quieter home where they are given time to trust and open up into their wonderful selves! They do well with the other kitties and use the litter box perfectly!

Mama Tinsel and her daughter, Solstice, have been waiting over 415 days for their fur-ever home. 🐱🩷

Mama Tinsel is 5 years old with the fully white nose and Solstice is 1 with the black and white nose. Solstice has been with us since birth! These two are beautiful cats who need a quieter home that is willing to work with their needs and boundaries!

Mama Tinsel is a bit more outgoing and enjoys pets (when she initiates), scratching posts, feather toys, and treats! Solstice is a little more shy, although she has been coming more and more out of her shell by the day. We are still working on her allowing us to pet her.

These two are in desperate need of a fur-ever home. They spend most of the day in a cabinet or under kennels. When the shelter get quiet they'll come out to explore and play! PLEASE consider adopting these two amazing cats!

Sweet Padme is still looking for a fur-ever home after 275+ days! 🐈❤️

Padme is a sweet 1 y/o girl who loves her tipi, treats, and pets. She is timid and shy and would do best in a quieter home that understands her needs. She would love some pets if you introduce yourself with a sniff first! She appreciates it if you go slow and listen to her body language!

Padme does well with calmer cats, she would snuggle up with the other cats while she was free roaming in our purple room. She would do well with a more reserved, quieter cat or as an only kitty and in a home without kids!

Padme is a wonderful kitty and we hope someone gives her a chance!

Sunny 🧡 and Stormy 🩶 and looking for a fur-ever home together!

Sunny (4 y/o, F) and Stormy (4 y/o, M) are in need of a home! These two are absolute love bugs and love attention. Stormy is a little more outgoing, he is usually out and about during the day, soaking in the sun and pets frok visitors!

Sunny is a little more shy and is usually tucked away in a bed during the day. But she comes out in the afternoon for some chat and pets! They both like to chat and cannot wait to find a home!
