This pup is Dante! He’s 9 months old and had a very rough start in life, but you’d never know it! He’s a wiggly, sweet, happy pup!
Dante was found in GA with two broken legs, likely from a hit and run. Dante has had surgery to fix his injuries so now he is resting and recovering.... which is no fun for a young, energetic guy!
Dante is a loving, sunny, smiley boy who is ready to find his forever people... which should be easy since he loves everyone he meets, including other dogs.He’d love a home that gives him plenty of exercise (once he’s able) and in the meantime will be able to follow his plan for recovery. Dante will happily repay you with all the snuggles, hugs and kisses you could ask for! Woof! Hello! My name is Dauphine, and I am a three year old hound mix who weighs around 40 lbs. (I am lean!) Did you notice that I have one blue eye and one brown eye? What can I say? I'm pretty special! 🙂

I arrived at the shelter after my family was no longer able to properly care for me. When you come visit me at the shelter, you may see me excited or pacing around in my cage. The kennel environment is difficult for me and causes me stress. Once I set a cute little white paw out of the door, I become the real me -- fun-loving, smart, obedient, and playful. I hope my new family won't be put off by my cage behavior and will give me a chance to show what a sweetheart I am!

I have come SO FAR! in my time at the shelter with the love and support of the people here. I am one lucky girl! My human friends have discovered that I know all my commands -- sit, paw, down, and even speak! I am very food and toy motivated, so I am always happy to "perform" for a reward. If you'd like to continue my training, I am always eager to learn new things!

I am an energetic gal who really loves playing with toys. But I'm not a one-trick pony (or, er, hound!). I also enjoy being petted and having my belly scratched. With me, we can have an active afternoon and then snuggle on the couch together. That sounds perfect to me!

Because of my energy level and tendency to get a little nibbly when I'm excited -- I correct very easily! -- I would do best in a home with older children and, of course, adults. I'd especially love a family who will give me some time to decompress, exercise me, and give me all the love I so richly deserve. I promise to give lots of love back to you, too!

I actually walk quite nicely on my leash, especially when I am wearing my harness. I easily walk past other pups, people, runners, etc. I'm a good girl! I am also a huge people-pleaser (and a sucker for a yummy treat!) so it is really easy to redirect my attention.

It looks like I haven't been well socialized with other pups. While I'm fine in the proximity of other doggies, I prefer not to have a dog right up in my snout. It's so rude! Hehehe! For this reason, I would need to be the only doggie in your household. That's okay ... I'm pretty darn spectacular all on my own!

Our hearts just ache for this fun-loving soul, who came to NEAS when his owner, who loved him very much, sadly became homeless. Bunker’s been through a lot and is searching for that someone to once again call his own. Bunker is 4.5 years old, loves to sit for treats, walks well on leash, and is fully house trained. He is happiest when he gets to zoom around in the play yard, followed by belly rubs and affection from his people. Bunker can be a bit shy around children he doesn’t know, and can be fearful in new situations, so we think he’d do best in an adult home. We just love this guy, and want nothing more than to see him in his new forever home...He so deserves it!

Rosie is 8 months old and as sweet as they come. Rosie is shy at first, but once she comes out of her shell she’s all wiggles. She loves to sit right by you and lean in for affection, and at 29lbs she’s the perfect size to be the little spoon! Rosie is a smarty pants who already knows sit, stay, and come, and she’s working hard every day to be fully house trained! We want to introduce Fred! Fred is one of the few dogs that has been at the shelter for way too long, so he’s spending some time in a foster home as a much deserved break! This 2 year old tripod lab mix is 61 lbs of energy and cuddles.

Despite being a love bug with his people, Fred is nervous when it’s time to meet new faces, but he warms up very quickly and loves sitting on laps, giving snuggles and loafing on couches! He prefers to be the one and only pet in the home, and because of his nerves, would do best without young children. This good boy is Rory. Rory is 2 years old and has been searching for his forever home for way too long, which breaks our hearts.

Rory is an active guy who would do well in an adult home that will give him plenty of exercise each day. Rory is friendly and affectionate to his people, but is a bit insecure in new and loud situations so he’s looking for a family that will help boost his confidence in new environments. But don’t let his insecurities fool you, Rory is a fun loving goofball at heart. And to top it off, he sits nicely for treats, does well with training, and walks like a gentleman on leash. Not to mention, he’s so well behaved in his kennel as he sits and patiently waits for that special someone to love. We just adore this guy!

Scootabelle, 8 weeks, pitbull/lab mix. This sweet girl was named after her mom, Scooter, because she is a mini version of Scooter. She is a very calm and sweet girl who just needs to be cuddled. She was born here in CT. Her mom was rescued pregnant from a KY shelter along with Scooter’s sister, Izzy. Izzy was pregnant as well when we rescued them. Both of the moms had their pups a day apart. The two moms and most of her siblings/cousins have been adopted. She is not house trained but that doesn’t stop her from being a little bundle of joy! Southie is 2 years old and was found outside in the cold, soaking wet. She was hiding under a porch seeking shelter when a kind gentleman found her and alerted us. Southie is too cute for words and is loving the warmth and cozy beds of the shelter. Carter is a 5 year old shepherd mix who loves being in foster care and away from the hustle and bustle of the shelter!

Carter loves to run and play with the resident dogs and he is a big cuddle buddy that sleeps (and hogs) his foster mom’s bed every night. Despite needing some time to warm up to new people, Carter has accepted everyone in the family rather quickly and gives them all kisses and hugs. Since he’s been residing with his foster family he has been super calm and relaxed. Once Carter settles in and feels safe, he’s a very easy going and gentle giant!

Carter is looking for a forever home with a canine sibling (or two!) and a fenced yard so he can run and play. Because he is very nervous around new people, he’ll need an adult home that does not have lots of new faces coming and going.
