GOOD NEWS! I will soon be carrying Warrior Fly Boots! I've been using these for the last couple of years and find they are much better quality than others on the market. Fly boots are a great in reducing leg stomping in the height of bug season which can reduce trauma to the horses legs and hooves. Take a look at my horses hooves. There are no snowballs at all! This has been the coldest week of winter and I've not had to worry about my girls at all. Snowball issues went away when I went to barefoot trims in 2014 and we've never looked back. A quality balanced barefoot trim is not the same as a shoeless trim. The differences can be subtle but it makes a world of difference in hoof health. Want to know more? Just ask!

Guess winter is finally here! Looks like I'll be able to finish out this week with temps staying high enough but next week isn't looking so good. As of right now forecasted temps are going to be too cold to trim. I will be watching the weather closely and may need to reschedule. Stay tuned!

Not sure if any of my dog friends would be in need of a slip lead or two? I made these up from quality double braid poly rope that I use for horse halters. They are 1/4” rope and approximately 6’ long. I use these on my large dogs with no problem. Ready to go are 1 lime green, 1 purple, 2 electric blue, 1 burgundy and one teal. I have other rope colors available as well.

Got to trim an ex-racehorse who’s shoes were literally falling off. Pics are of the front left trimmed while the front right still had the shoe on. What a huge difference!

How do I trim my horses on hot summer days? First each gets a nice refreshing bath, squeegeed and then a little time to dry some. Then they come into the garage and stand in front of the fan. The fan helps keep the flies away and keeps us both cool! Plus the bath helps put moisture into the hoof making my job easier! Win, win!
