Just like your horse, you need to process to!
And your body always wants to process....
But the mind gets in the way! (read self protect)
A bit like digesting a big meal, processing is where the body, mind & nervous system sort through what we have accumilated (or consumed). Experiences, information, emotions that needs to be sorted through and made sense of. The bits we don't need (or are ready for us to let go) get released, and the parts our body feels is important stays. But it doesn't just hang around, it integrates, like food turns into energy and that energy gets absorbed by your cells. This happens with processing within our nervous systems too.
Once you have digested and processed, you have space, you are no longer feeling full to the brim of experiences and you have more room and capacity for new ones. Processing is also a vital part of making sense of past hurts, emotions that have been stuck and unprocessed, and heaviness we feel. Processing can be life changing, it can also be perfectly ordinary and unremarkable.
The more we process the more regulated our nervous system can feel.
But processing can be a difficult process for our minds to let go of control! Emotions may surface, sensations may surface, and perhaps this doesn't feel safe for your nervous system.
That's okay. Go slowly, create pockets of time to digest the day and how you feel. Find what works for you.
And catch the barriers you put in the way with love.

Growing their window of social engagement
🫶Social engagement is a beautiful part of our nervous system, that has evolved within us social an herd mammals, that opens our hearts, turns our defense systems off temporarily, and unlocks presence, connection and communication with other mammals. We can go a lifetime without truly tapping into this state, and so can our horses.
🫶It is so subtle, but helping to bring our horses back into their bodies, and window of social engagement can feel like they are seeing us for the first time. They can be present and curious, soft and engaged.
🫶The air changes! Notice how Paddy picked up on jack moving from freeze to social engagement and wanted to come and interact with him
🫶Here's the kicker: we can onl initiate it in our horses through co regulation if we are here first!
This is why it is so important that we grow our own regulation practice first.
This is something that I love supporting my clients with.
Take a breath, and enjoy playing with the window of presence/socia engagement!

DID SOMEONE SAY TITANIC ⛴️ 🧊
Because we’ve been looking a hella lot at icebergs!
This month it was in the context of language 🗣️
Communication and language can be conscious AND unconcious!
Everything about us is a balance between the two!
✨ This means it’s is our job to develop our relationship with ourselves, to bring more of the ice berg over the sea line, and become aware of what is influencing our conversations, interactions and relationship with our horses.
💥 Here’s the kicker… The more you can become aware of what goes on underneath, the more awareness and choice you have about what you would like to do with it, and how you are going to mediate that for your horse.
This creates a deeper sense of safety for those around you, and for our horses this creates a space where they know there isn't a shark under the water ready for them!
This is a snippet from this months My Horse is My Mirror Mastery, if you would like to see more of this workshop, I have released a short (20 min) taster of this workshop on youtube!

Underneath it all?
Relationships to relationships to relationships.
It all starts with us ♥️
Rebalance Your Equestrian Relationship Weekend
Do you and your horse want a space where you can be yourselves, take a breath, and come back together?
This could be the weekend for you.
Rebalance your Equestrian Relationship Weekend
August 17th-18th
Catesby Equestrian - Northampton
September 21-22nd
Alderlake Farm - Sussex
Rebalance your Equestrian Relationship weekend is as a safe haven for your relationship, to give you and your horse the time, space and support to be authentically yourselves and soak up the safety of each other.
It's created with co-regulation in mind, which always starts with self regulation. This is why we start with a day for you first.
Saturday: AM
Arrive and connect with likeminded women. Explore what you would like to shift, and dive into honest and empowering conversations. Expand and unlock new insights through a perspective changing workshop exploring relationship & the nervous system, and finish with a somatic regulation exercise which focuses on presence, choice and empowerment.
PM
After lunch get into the shoes of your horse with a powerful empathy practice and then integrate with a flowing mindful movement practice.
Finish with an EFT tapping session to bring everything together and let it land in your body and mind.
Sunday AM
Sunday is an opportunity to bring this nourished and regulated energy to your horse.
Arrive, settle and find your way together. Explore and orient to your environment, and see how you are both feeling. Be led by what comes through, play with presence, reciprocity and from a place of relationship rather than results. Be guided to weave more attunement into your conversations together to build trust and social engagement.
PM
After a long lunch break, explore release and body work to deepen their experience of processing and letting go on a cellular and nervous system level.
We will wrap up when the horses feel ready, we won't overcook them.
This is a special weekend through and through ♥
If you would like to find out more, please get in touch!
How different would riding look, feel and be if our priority wasn't results or performance, but relationship, regulation and reciprocity.
What do we need to let go and shift in ourselves, in our industry to nurture that new picture?
Here is a little play from today, where we grow our first few 'rides'
Today we took a My Horse is My Mirror Mastery Trip to @kneppwilding ! ✨🐴
Within a few minutes we found the wild ponies. We watched them with curiosity and calmness and noticed their synchronicity, their ease, regulation and symbiosis.
The only thing you could hear above the birds was the busy road nearby.
The contrast of noise and quiet. Peace and chaos, what animals bring us vs what we can bring them.
Being fast is a human issue. These spaces have so much to remind us of 🙏
Relationships aren’t built on speed, but time, consistency, attention, safety, presence and above all. Peace.
A massive thank you to the MHIMM ladies for such a wonderful day.

What knowledge has empowered you?
What knowledge has opened a door for yourself and your horse?
Can you take a moment to have gratitude for that knowledge, if it’s knowledge from outside sources, a mentor, situations, your gut, something greater than you, your horse…
Even if it no longer aligns with you, it brought you to this moment, it opened a door ♥️

There is a gap between knowing the knowledge Vs living it. This is as different as night and day when it comes to horses. You can know the why’s and how’s. But your horse doesn’t care about how much you know. Until they can feel it through your fingertips, your energy field, your nervous system. The felt knowledge ♥️This is why we must be brave in implementing, in regulating our nervous systems, in practicing what we have learned even when it means it goes differently than we’d hoped! Can we be okay with being a work in progress? ✨What are your thoughts?
Walk according to Indi 🌸
After you have honoured their no’s more yes’s appear in time. When they trust you to care for their thresholds, the thresholds naturally grow in time.
Indi has said no to this route more times than I can count! Mostly because she hasn’t felt physically or emotionally comfortable. It could take us an hour to walk a few mins up the path.
Nervous system tools have been in full flow. Regulating my breath, holding and noticing when impatience would say “hi!” and coming back to a place of presence over and over again.
Recently, Indi has found her yes! The more and more we venture out together, take our time, have plenty of snacks, she has been able to own her yes- just like she owned her no.
It’s amazing seeing her intuitive movement and expression flourish without it overwhelming her.
Just like us, our horses can also get overwhelmed by feelings- even the good ones!
The foundation of regulation is being able to tolerate sensations in your body, for us and them. And this helps us say yes, and mean it 🥰
