Do you need a ginger knee warmer on these cool Spring days? Then this mature boy called Pancake is for you!
Pancake was found scavenging on the streets nearly a year ago. Over time he's warmed up to people and now loves the comforts of home.
Pancake is an older gentleman estimated to be between 5-10 years old, possibly 6-8 is ours and the vet's best guess. He can be a little timid and hissy with strangers at first but he will jump onto my lap for cuddles and pats. His hobbies are eating, sleeping on beds and laps, and giving sloppy smooches.
Pancake has lived with stray cats but likes his space so any other cats would need to be respectful of his boundaries. He doesn't like dogs much. Gentle older children would be okay.

Pancake will be available for adoption from 7 October onwards and is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and up to date with flea and worm treatment.

Current location is South Tararua, however we can discuss transport to other North Island regions.

An adoption fee of $100 applies.

When messaging, please tell us about yourself, your home, family, other pets and why you want to adopt this cat. We ask questions to ensure it's the right fit for everyone.

Little old Fluffy needs an understanding home.
Fluffy is a grey dilute tortie-tabby, 10+ years old. Surrendered by her owner because she had started pooping inside, it seems that Fluffy was in a stressful environment including an energetic dog.
She is in good health and has just been vet checked and vaccinated.
She's sweet and sassy, loves pats and attention but will slap you if she gets annoyed.
Fluffy does not like other cats and is very hissy and growly, likely because of her past experiences with other household cats. She would be best as a single cat or might accept another quiet cat if there is sufficient space for them to have their own areas. Not suitable for a home with a dog or children.
Can you give Fluffy a calm home for her retirement years? She is mostly good with the litterbox in her short time with us but you will need to be prepared for occasional accidents.
She has lots of love to give and wants to be spoilt.
Fluffy is desexed, received her first vaccination, up to date with flea and worm treatment and will be microchipped prior to adoption.

Current location is South Tararua, however we can discuss transport to other North Island regions.

An adoption fee of $100 applies.

When messaging, please tell us about yourself, your home, family, other pets and why you want to adopt this cat. We ask questions to ensure it's the right fit for everyone.

Congratulations to Pumpkin who was adopted today!
Do you love ginger cats but missed out on Pumpkin? Good news - Pancake will soon be up for adoption!
Pancake is an ex-stray, approx 3-5 years old who is timid and hissy at first but he really just wants endless pats and to curl up on your lap.
Pancake was neutered yesterday and receives his first vax this week. He'll be available to adopt from early October onwards.

Welcome to sweet little old lady Fluffy who was surrendered to us today. She was showing signs of stress at home and recently started toileting inside.
She's about 10 years old and very friendly.
Fluffy will have a full vet check up and likely needs dental work done.
She's a pale grey with faint hints of tortie and tabby colouring.

Pumpkin has an adoption meeting this weekend but the rest are still available.
Do you have the time and patience to give a timid kitten or cat a loving home? These kitties have come so far and just need to find the right place to settle down.

This big orange boy was first seen in December last year hanging around the Eketāhuna main street shops. He was very skitterish for a long time but now look at him! 😄
He's not microchipped and appears to be an entire male.
Nobody claimed ownership after I previously posted on the local community page a while ago and asked around.
He is now with us and is very much at home inside the house after just two days. Definitely not a wild cat! We would love to find his home if he has one.

Pumpkin would like everyone to know that he's graduated to supervised time in the catio and nobody got bitten! 😄
This approx 1 year old plump ginger boy is almost ready for adoption. He's still learning some cat etiquette but likes home life and doesn't want to return to the wild any more.
He has just discovered that pats and head scratchies are AMAZING!
He's quite chatty and is learning how to play with string and toys.
Mixing with other cats is on a case by case basis. He seems to be docile around dominant cats but picks on smaller ones. 🙁
He's been around a dog but prefers them to keep their distance.
Pumpkin needs a home with someone who will continue to help him develop his domesticated skills and give him space when he needs time alone. Not suitable as a pet for small children.
Pumpkin is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and up to date with flea and worm treatment.
Adoption fee of $100 applies.
Travel can be discussed for the right home but prefer within the Wellington-Whanganui regions.

Pumpkin allowed me to give him little head scratchies tonight! This is the first time he has let me touch him.
He's a beautiful young adult cat who was completely wild when he was caught. He's got a long way to go before he'll be a cuddly cat but it's a great first step for him. 😊

This morning I got a message that there was a very angry cat in a local person's trap. I immediately went out to collect this interesting guy who my wife has named Screeb (a Destiny gaming reference I was told 😄).
Poor Screeb was very scared and looked wild at first but when I transferred him from the trap to the dog crate, he seemed much more settled.
He's an entire male judging from his stinky p*e 🙄, not microchipped and may have a genetic condition causing his unusually wide nasal bridge and bulging forehead.

Congratulations to Merlin, Scrunchy and Daisy who have all found new homes now!
The next group of cats and kittens is making progress with their social skills but they are mostly some way off being cuddly and snuggly just yet. If you're willing to be patient, calm, gentle and loving then they will become loyal friends in time.
If you are interested in any of these cats and kittens, please drop us a message and we can have a chat about a timeframe for adoption. 😊

Pumpkin:
Ginger boy, approx 10-12 months. Ex-wild older kitten/young adult, not yet able to be patted, hissy and swipey. Playful by himself and loves sunbathing.

Choppy:
Tabby boy, approx 6 months. Ex-wild kitten, skittery and not able to be patted yet. Curious about people, good with other cats. Lost tips of his ears to frostbite but still very cute.

Chipmunk/Chippy:
Tabby female, approx 8 months. Ex-wild kitten, she adores our dog. Sleeps on our bed but doesn't allow pats yet. Very playful.

Buttons:
Grey (blue) male, approx 4-5 years. Former stray, extremely timid. He was bullied by other cats and is scared of everything. Likes his kitten companions. Allows little head scratchies and pats once he feels safe.

Shadow:
Black & white male, approx 5-6 months. Ex-wild kitten caught young. A silly, playful little fellow, likes other cats and is Button's friend. Will sometimes sit on your lap and allows pats while playing.

Dandy:
Black & white male, approx 6 months. Ex-wild kitten, very skittery, can'tpat him yet. He likes other cats, not keen on dogs. Has a cute white mustache.

Sunny Bunny:
Black male, approx 2-3 years. Ex-stray, very friendly to people, very UN-friendly to all other cats and will attack them. Only available to an approved home as Sunny is FIV+ and a single cat, indoor only home is required. A long term care plan can be discussed.
