One of the common misconceptions of the general public toward Veterinary Medicine is that we work only with animals and never have to “deal” with humans. To some this might even be an appealing part of the job. For us working with people is the most important and rewarding part of the job. Emery Guess is one of those people that we are honored to be able to work alongside. Mr. Guess started his Florida Agriculture career when he was 18 years old as a Lab Technician for the University of Florida’s Watermelon and Grape Division. 51 years of marriage, 2 kids and 6 grandkids later he’s still working in the industry. At 81 years young he continues to inspire us to give our best to the industry we love the most. Mr. Guess is a great representation of the Florida Cattleman and their legacy.

Whether we are preg. checking a large herd or semen testing a few bulls this view never gets old! The cool fall breeze is also a plus this time of the year!

Show season is here and while some pigs just cant handle the stress of new environments, feed changes, weather, hauling and of course coughing/respiratory issues we can help! Re**al prolapses can be pretty eye opening to anyone but especially to first time show kids. We’re always glad when we can be of service.

No one wants to think about the last days of their furry friends. Here at Pursuit, we offer In-Home Euthanasia as one of our services. We see how beneficial it is to our clients as it provides a more peaceful and less traumatic experience for owner and pet. It’s not a call we enjoy but it is one we take great pride and responsibility in offering!

Summertime adventures are always a blast, but if your dog struggles with allergies summertime can be especially difficult on them. These are some of our favorite products for keeping allergies under control.

1. A monthly flea and heart-worm preventive is important for dogs who struggle with a case of the itchies! We highly recommend advantage-multi.

2. Cytopoint is a great drug used for dogs who struggle a bit more with allergies. Instead of a daily pill this is an injection given every 4-8 weeks!

3. Having a good hypoallergenic dog shampoo/rinse is also a great way to relieve some of those dried out hotspots in your dog’s coat.

All three of the above products are used on our personal animals here at Pursuit! Make sure to give your dog an itch free summer!
