How do you say no? How do you just walk away and carry on with your day?☹️

There’s a wonderful woman in Cleveland, TX, who sent out a plea for these puppies. The woman is actually how we found out about Bonnie & Clyde (& are now in Denver!). The kind woman couldn’t leave these tiny babies out in a ditch all by themselves. They were dumped in the middle of nowhere and there was NO way they’d survive out there alone! We have no idea how long they’d been out there.

When they were found, they were terrified and kept trying to hide in the hole they had temporarily found shelter in🥺

Can you imagine being that tiny and afraid?😭 They were FULL of worms 🪱 and fleas, but had baths and have since then been dewormed. They are the sweetest puppies.

They are around 6-7 weeks old and are all females!

Adoption Story - Maya

Maya is a dog that was living on the streets of Cleveland, TX. She was being super sweet and protective of a group of chihuahuas that were also on the streets, and would let them eat first 😢 She was taken in by a very kind street feeder that could no longer take seeing Maya in danger on the streets (there’s a high risk of being hit by a car, poisoned, or attacked by other dogs among other scary outcomes!), and reached out to find a rescue to help. After everything she had been through, we knew she deserved a chance at a better life and happily said yes to bringing her to Colorado.

Sadly she was heartworm positive, but received treatment in Texas and arrived in Colorado late last year. She immediately went into a foster to adopt home and her new parents fell in love with her (I mean, who wouldn’t?!).

She now lives in Denver with her parents and kitty sibling. Her parents say her favorite things are ear scratches, belly rubs, going to Berkeley dog park, her treat puzzle and her Mr Otter toy 🥺 They say she has come out of her shell significantly since she first came home - she is much more confident and playful and will make a cute “awwoooo” noise when she’s excited.

We are so happy that Maya was able to get off of the streets of Cleveland, TX into a home of her own. Happy tails sweet girl! 💕

Juniper is one of the puppies from the J Litter.

She is the only female in the litter, is about 4 months old, a lab/collie mix (we think!), up to date on vaccines, and has been living in a foster home with 2 of her littermates.

Her foster mom says “she is truly one of the most loving puppies I have fostered (of 70!). She will come right up to anyone and lay in their lap. Her eyes see right to your soul. She is incredibly social and immediately took to my 1 year old son. She always tries to protect him while he is crawling around and even cried and got worried when we put him in the swing.” 🥹

The puppies’ foster has fostered over 70 puppies 😮 and she says “All the pups are truly some of the most gentle souls I’ve fostered. They have the gentle giant mentality and I trust them fully with my 1 year old son and our animals at the house. Justin - although he is the largest of the litter he is definitely not an alpha. Justin makes you work for his love but is incredibly sweet and loving once he trusts you. He is very social with other dogs and kids and will make an amazing family dog.

Jenson is one of the puppies from the J Litter.

He’s about 4 months old, a lab/collie mix (we think!), up to date on vaccines, and as sweet as can be.

Jenson is a spunky little pup that loves people and other dogs. He is very smart and is quickly catching on to a daily routine and mastering his treat puzzles. He is making great strides with potty training and showing some interest in learning basic commands. He hasn’t met a toy that he doesn’t like and can easily entertain himself. He rides in the car like a champ and is now sleeping in his crate throughout the night without a peep. He has earned the nickname Shadow because he is constantly following behind his foster mom, dad or sister at all times. He is such a lover and just the sweetest little pup.

Adoption Story - Dash

Dash is a dog that a rescue partner in Texas reached out to us about, in hopes we could help. He was on the euthanasia list at the shelter and had no rescue interest so a plea was made to see if anyone could take him. He had previously been at the shelter as a puppy (look at his adorable puppy pics!) less than a year prior, had been adopted and then found himself back at the same shelter and on the euthanasia list 🥹 Despite being a super sweet boy, his time was up! 😩
Luckily we were able to say yes and had a foster lined up as well (thank you Ian!) We can’t say yes to a dog without fosters, so here’s an example of how they can truly help save a life!

As chance would have it, his foster dad Ian, had friends that had been looking for a second dog for a little while and fell in love with Dash when they met him. We love it when our fosters find amazing adopters for our dogs 🙌

Dash had a sad start to his life but he’s making up for it now! Dash, now named Gus, has a loving mom and dad and a dog brother who is showing him the ropes. He gets to run around in a big backyard and join his dad on disc golf adventures multiple times a week. We are so happy he finally is getting the happy ending he deserves! From being in a Texas shelter twice, to enjoying adventures in Colorado - you made it Gus!

Driver found - thank you, Laiah!! Ps, Bonnie is still looking for a forever family!

🆘 Volunteer needed for tomorrow morning! Can anyone take Bonnie to her vet appt tomorrow? She needs a ride to get her heartworm injection. She is a very sweet baby and is super friendly.

She needs to be picked up in West Wash Park and driven to our vet in Parker at 8am tomorrow morning.

Gas money provided. Can anyone please help?!

Adoption update - Carly

Carly came to us from a shelter in Texas. She found herself at risk of euthanasia despite being the sweetest little thing. Sadly this is not an unusual occurrence as shelters are overwhelmed and overcapacity in many parts of the country 😔 We are just so happy we were able to tag her and bring her to Colorado.

As luck would have it, we already had a potential adopter lined up! They had previously applied for a different dog that ended up getting adopted. They patiently waited while we found a match for them - which happened to be Carly!! 🙌

Carly, now Cayenne, is living the good life with 2 dog siblings and a cat friend. She loves everyone and is adored by her parents. We love these happy endings! From euthanasia listed to a loving home 🫶 We are so happy for Cayenne and family! 💕

Adoption story - Ari

Remember Ari?! Ari was tagged from a shelter in Texas that had her euthanasia listed due to space. She was such a sweet girl and super cute, we knew we had to give her a chance at finding her forever home. Unfortunately after leaving the shelter, we found out she tested heartworm positive, which was confirmed on bloodwork when she arrived in Colorado.

Ari was adopted last month, after her new mom saw her story posted on Instagram. Her heartworm status didn’t scare away her new parents - they researched it even before their first call with us prior to adoption 🥹!! After meeting Ari, they fell in love with her sweet personality and knew they wanted to make her adoption official. Ari, now Tendy, went home last month and her parents absolutely adore her. She has been learning lots of new tricks, and keeping her mind stimulating with lots of puzzles while she’s going through heartworm treatment. She has a work from home mom and she loves keeping her company and snuggling on the couch. Her parents can’t wait to finish her heartworm treatment and take her hiking and camping this summer.

“J Pups” - Adopt us!! ❤️

After having their vet visit, our J pups are now available for adoption 🙌. These are the litter of puppies that we helped another local rescue with as unfortunately they were getting shut down and dogs were going to be seized by the government.

They are lab/collie mixes (we think!), about 4 months old, vaccinated and happy little babies. They are being fostered in the Denver area. Here’s what their fosters say about them:

Jenson (male, black w/white chest and feet)
- Spunky, smart puppy that loves people, and other dogs. He is making great strides with potty training and showing some interest in learning basic commands. He hasn’t met a toy that he doesn’t like and can easily entertain himself. He is such a lover and just the sweetest little pup.

Justice (male, white on muzzle)- He is playful and very intelligent (he is the only one who can already sit!) Just like the others he is incredibly sweet and friendly with our baby and strangers and other dogs.

Juniper (female, mostly black)- truly one of the most loving puppies I have fostered (of 70!). She will come right up to anyone and lay in their lap. Her eyes see right to your soul. Scooped up these cutie pies from a local shelter today and oh my goodness, they are the cutest, leggiest little babies! They are siblings and their names are Chicken and Waffles 😆 How adorable are their little hops?🥲

They are around four months old and actually photograph a lot bigger than their real size. They’re originally from Texas and will make amazing little family members here in Colorado.

These guys will be available for adoption (separately) very soon, and we can’t wait to see their story unfold!

Meet Reya (she also needs a foster, or foster to adopt home beginning 3/29!)💕 We typically stick to rescuing in certain regions because that is where our resources are. However, Reya is a special case.

Not sure if you remember Molly & Maya, who we rescued back in 2021, but one of our wonderful adopters asked us if we could take this sweet girl, Reya, after a family member found Reya on her property.

Reya is a MISSISSIPPI gal!! Her finder (our adopter’s sister) loves Reya so much and wants the best for her, that she’s driving Reya to catch a flight with our pilot out of Denton at the end of this month!

Here’s what she has to say about Miss Reya —

“Rey arrived to my home in December crawling under my farm gate seeking shelter. I believe she was dumped to an open wooded area close by. She has been at my home in coastal Mississippi since then. She has thrived within the large property and has become a sweet little friend to myself and my dogs. She loves to play and is high energy. She is also very independent. If her human is outside she is right beside following along. She has never once tried to run away since her arrival to me. An elder dog at my home is not in agreement to her coming in to the home and has demonstrated aggressive behavior towards poor Rey. Rey has maintained a sweet, submissive demeanor towards all dogs even when one of my dogs is grumpy with her.

🩷Rey is:
▪️Around 10 months old
▪️Approximately 25 pounds
▪️Fully vetted and heartworm negative
▪️Dog friendly
▪️No chickens please
▪️Loves to snuggle
▪️Very food motivated

Millie truly is one of the sweetest, most gentle pups we have ever had. She needs a forever home guys, as she’s unfortunately losing her foster family (her foster is moving out of state next month!😞)

Millie was rescued off the Houston streets, after a local street feeder couldn’t stand to see something bad happen to her. Unfortunately, Millie’s pup friend was never found. Millie was then sent to BARC and EU listed due to space. We couldn’t let that happen, so we tagged her.

Despite being labeled as heartworm negative, she ended up being heartworm positive. She has already had her first injection for treatment and is doing great. Her treatment is financially covered by us.

This sweet girl is around a year and a half and is 49 lbs. She is fully vetted. She LOVES kids and other dogs. She hasn’t been around cats. Her favorite person in her foster home is a little toddler, who is her bestie!

Per her foster:
“Meet this sweet, active, and loving pup! She’s an eager-to-please, smart girl who thrives in an active environment and would do wonderfully in an active Colorado home. Though a bit anxious at times, she absolutely loves snuggling up for some quiet comfort and just wants to feel safe and loved. Adoptable Bonnie is ready to find her happy ending after a rough start to life! She was found dumped in Cleveland, TX (hell on earth for dogs), where it is not uncommon for dogs to get discarded by their owners 🥹

It truly is hard to comprehend how humans can be so terrible to animals, and yet they are so forgiving! Bonnie is a perfect example of this as she is sweet as can be despite being failed miserably by people.

Bonnie is a fully vetted and spayed. She is roughly a year and a half old and is 49 lbs

🩷Great with other dogs, and respectful of boundaries
🩷Foster thinks she would do fine with respectful kids and even cats
