Please help network Zara!! Zara has waited 5 months for a home and has received ZERO adoption interest. We know large dogs typically have less apps, but she is so deserving of a forever home 🥺

A street feeder in Cleveland, TX, found her on the streets where dogs were being poisoned by someone. The street feeder said Zara was just too sweet to leave behind for a horrific fate.

She was pregnant, had worms and was heartworm positive. We got her spayed, fully vetted, and she has since then successfully completed heartworm treatment.

She has been in foster care and learning not all humans are bad, and it’s been wonderful seeing her be able to be “a puppy” by playing and cuddling, carefree.

Zara is being fostered with other dogs and loves the other pups, but would probably do best as a solo dog. After surviving the streets with other dogs attacking her, she is dog selective. However, depending on the right home with the right dog, those homes would also be considered.

Zara is around 1.5-2 years old and is 60 lbs. She is potty trained and crate trained. She has not been around children. She’s very smart and loves toys and puzzles!

We are sure she’d make an incredible family member; they just haven’t seen her yet!

She’s adoptable in Colorado, but out of state apps will be considered. If unable to adopt, can you please share with your network? She’s such a good pup and is deserving of a family.

Help! Zeus had an emergency room visit last night and we need help paying his bill. The cost came to $786 and he was diagnosed with a pr*****ed urethra🥺

We’ve never had this before, so it’s definitely new to us. The vet advised it is typically fixed when dogs get neutered, so Zeus and his brother, Aries, have a neuter appt next week. He’s now wearing a cone and is resting, but is doing well.

Ozzy Pawsbourne 🤘🏻

Look at this little muppet! 😆 Ozzy is an approximately 12 week old poodle mix that is coming to us from our rescue friends in Texas. Sadly he was in pretty poor condition- living in a crate, covered in f***s, fleas and ticks 😔 He was rescued from these deplorable conditions, cleaned up (and shaved down 😬), vaccinated and dewormed and is now ready to get out of TX. Welcome to Up Pup, Ozzy Pawsbourne!

Ozzy is going to be flying into Denver (DIA) and is set to arrive on Tuesday 4/22 at 6pm. We would love to have him lined up with a foster to adopt home if possible, otherwise he will be needing just a foster home until he finds his forever people.

Ozzy is about 12 weeks old, has lots of puppy energy, is playful and a happy go lucky guy. He is likely going to be a smaller dog.

Mother Nature litter 🍂

Welcome to the Up Pup family Mother Nature litter 🌲 These 4 little nuggets were dumped on someone’s doorstep in a box just before a flood hit in this person’s area of TX. The person reached out for rescue backing and we stepped up. It’s unbelievable how many dogs need help in areas such as Texas, and when we have the capacity to help, it’s hard not to say yes! We have the most amazing fosters and adopters and have no doubt that we find the best homes for these dogs 🫶 We didn’t want these little pups to miss out on that chance.

Meet the gang:

Smokey - male
Willow - male

They are about 9 weeks old, have had their first vet visit for vaccines (2nd round will occur prior to travel) and deworming. They are due to arrive in CO next week and we would ideally like to have fosters lined up to take them in pairs if possible 🙏🏻

We suspect they will be on the smaller side (they are all 4lbs or smaller currently) - they look like mini huskies 😆 and are super cute, playful, happy little babes.

Nimbus ☁️

Look at this face?! Sweet Nimbus is coming to us from Cleveland, TX (yes, there are a crazy number of animals in need in this part of the country! 😔). A street feeder found him and really didn’t want to leave him to fend for himself on the rough streets, risking being attacked, starved, hit by a car or many other awful outcomes.

He is about 9-10 weeks old, sweet as pie and is looking for a foster or adopter when he arrives in Colorado next week. He’s still young and learning about all the good things in life, and we can’t wait to show him how great life is here in Colorado! ⛰️

Adoptable Annie 🐕

Little Annie is one of “ditch puppies”, found dumped in Cleveland, TX and sheltering in a ditch 🥺 A local there found them, cleaned them up and reached out for rescue backing. We knew they could find amazing homes in Colorado 🙌

Annie is about 9 weeks, absolutely adorable, and is such a fun and playful girl. She appears to be a shepherd mix but will likely be on the smaller to medium size. She is being fostered with other dogs and is doing great!

Her foster and temp fosters described her:

“I would say super sweet, smart, curious, playful and dog friendly. She seems like she is probably going to have a decent amount of energy. Her first foster she was around kids and they loved her, we have run into kids on walks a few times and she was great with them then too”

“She is such a love bug with a HUGE personality lol. She’s enjoyed playing with our bigger dogs all weekend. She’s a bundle of energy, but is so sweet and loving when she takes a moment to settle down. I think she would definitely benefit being in a home with another playful dog. Or at least someone who is willing to work with her and stimulate her. She’s very smart, so she would benefit from lots of puzzles, play, etc. We took her to a patio on Saturday for a bit, and she did great! “

Easter is coming- DONT BUY YOUR KIDS A BUNNY especially if you don’t have time space and money for them.

🐰Bunnies don’t belong caged 24/7, they love to have space to play & lounge.
🐰They don’t all litter train and do well inside.
🐰they chew wires
🐰they love to burrow and dig (they can’t do that in cages)
🐰they don’t all get along so you can’t just throw them together
🐰male and female will make babies, repeatedly, even if you don’t want them to

Please research before you purchase! They are cute, sometimes cuddly, and do not deserve to be caged and neglected in two months.

Sweet, adoptable Tessie is officially on the market!

Tessie and her two other sisters, Annie and Mollie, were all found dumped in Cleveland, TX. They were trying to stay warm and safe by living in a hole in a ditch at only 6 weeks old🥺 (last photos and video).

Tessie is now in Denver and ready for a family who will love her forever, could it be with you?

Little Miss is great with other dogs, cats and older kids. We think she will be around 35-40 lbs full grown. Per her foster:

“She’s very sweet and loves to cuddle! She would do best in a home where there is either another dog or someone home often, as she doesn’t like to be alone. Even though she was a “street dog,” she doesn’t scarf down her food! Considering her size she hasn’t met an obstacle that can stop her! She’s quite smart and quick to find away around any roadblocks!”

Justice 🐾

Justice is one of two J puppies left that haven’t been adopted yet 🥺 ✨

Per his current foster:
“he is the sweetest, most gentle loving boy. He does so well with babies and all dogs.
His favorite thing to do right now is hang outside. His personality shines most when he’s in the comfort of a home or in a yard but I’m positive it won’t take him long to trust that car rides and leash walks can lead to fun places too.
Aside from being a bit timid in the outside world, he wants to be every dog’s best friend and loves to cuddle humans. He finds comfort in his crate, sleeps through the night, and is doing great with potty training.
He is content playing alone but would be thrilled to have a dog sibling to play with as well.

Justice is such a playful goofball with a great disposition. He would make a perfect addition to your family! “

Justin 🐶

💕Adopt me, share me!! Justin is one of the two remaining J puppies that haven’t been adopted. He’s the sweetest little guy and we can’t believe he hasn’t been snatched up yet. His previous foster had a 1 year old baby and did great with him. He was described as being very sweet, happy go lucky and a “gentle giant”. He also does well with other dogs and has playful bouts but has more of a chill energy overall.

He is currently being fostered by one of our previous adopters (who remembers Dory (now Bailey)?!) and is settling into apartment living. He’s doing great with potty training, walks well on the leash, loves to snuggle and would make the perfect addition to a home with or without other dogs. His current foster said he would even do well with an older dog because he doesn’t constantly initiate play. He’s just an all round good boy and would love a home to call his own.

Meet Hendrix 🐈‍⬛

Yes, I know…Hendrix is a cat 😆 We are helping our rescue friends in TX with some of the super sweet and deserving kitties that need homes. There are so many cats in need in TX and Hendrix is just one of the many. We are teaming up with our friends over at the amazing where Hendrix will get to hang with other kitties, get love from visitors at the cafe and hopefully meet his forever people!

Hendrix is described by his finder in TX as a “dwarf kitty” - he’s super small 🥺. He loves the company of other cats and has done well with dogs as well. He takes a little bit of time to warm up, but once he knows you he will be your best friend. He also has a super playful side and enjoys spending his days lounging mixed with bursts of playtime.

He is due to arrive in Colorado in the coming weeks and will be available for adoption or just swing by to give him some love.

✨Adoptable Maisy✨ How is Maisy still with us🥺 She’s been in foster care and completing her heartworm treatment since November; she really deserves a forever family! Do you know of a great adopter looking for a loyal, beautiful, brindle gal?

Per her foster:
“Maisy is a complete and total lovebug. She demands to be held in your arms at least once a day and isn’t afraid to get her paws involved if she thinks you’re not totally focused on her. She likely came from the streets previously, at least based on how quickly she eats and the way she guards her food and bones. But she truly loves love and loves to feel loved. Right now as she’s ending her heartworm treatment, she’s spending her days sleeping by the window and watching the squirrels play around outside, saving her energy for the chase once she’s cleared to play again. She’s not afraid to remind us exactly at 7 AM and 4 PM to get her meals ready, and she’s looking for someone who’s ready to be as devoted to her as she will be to them. She’s truly such a good girl and would ideally do best in a home with one other dog or no dogs at all so she can be the apple of her new family’s eye. She does so good with our cats but we haven’t seen how she does with kids.”

Maisy completed heartworm treatment in November, after being transferred to us from a shelter that was shutting down. We think she’s around 2 years old and she’s being fostered in Aurora.

Howwww has this precious boy not received any adoption interest?!

Adopt me! Share me! Featuring: Chicken 🍗 His name has no real meaning other than the fact it paired well with his sister’s name, Waffles. He’s actually quite the opposite and is a confident and happy go lucky pup.

Chicken and Waffles (his sister) were rescued from southern Texas, after being dumped at a dead end road. Unfortunately, Chicken and Waffles were the only survivors. Both pups have made it to Colorado and are the sweetest, most adorable puppies!! Waffles has already found a wonderful home, but Chicken’s future family just hasn’t seen him yet!

Chicken is estimated to have been born in November. Not only is Chicken ridiculously adorable, he’s has the sweetest most loving personality. He has his typical bursts of puppy energy, but will gladly cuddle up when it’s time to relax. He goes to his crate (No fuss!) And sleeps through the night. Chicken loves humans and dogs of all ages.

He has a cool and unique bit of icy blue in one of his eyes and has the cutest, most boopable, speckled nose. He’s currently being fostered in Denver.

TRANSPORT HELP NEEDED THIS FRI OR SAT! 🆘 Houston, TX/surrounding area! We need a volunteer to drive these sweet precious souls from Houston to Denton (near Dallas) either this Friday (4/11), or early Saturday (4/12) morning please!

2 adults and 3 small puppies all have a freedom flight leaving Denton around 830am CT Saturday morning. We are only missing the one leg of transportation from Houston to Denton.

Please help! We don’t want them to miss transport. If you’re able to drive them from Houston to Denton either Friday (any time) or ideally early Saturday morning, please message us. We’ll cover your gas and food for the day! Plus, you’ll get to hang out with the sweetest pups.

‼️Fosters (or foster to adopt) needed starting 4/12!

We have three puppies we would love to find fosters (or foster to adopt) starting Sat 4/12 so they don’t miss transport 🙏🏻

✨Introducing Zeus and Aries - two 10 week old male puppies found abandoned in Cleveland, TX. They were literally wandering in the middle of the street 🥹 (see video from their finder). This area of TX is notorious for people dumping dogs they no longer want, and there are so many dogs on the streets 😥 They are both super sweet and adorable puppies and didn’t deserve to be failed so miserably by humans. Their finder didn’t want to leave them to fend for themselves on the streets and reached out for a rescue to help.

✨Mollie is a ~8/9 week old shepherd mix (??) that was abandoned in a ditch in Cleveland, TX with her siblings. She had to stay behind because she had a wound on her leg that needed to be evaluated. She has since made a recovery and is doing great! She would love to make transport on Saturday and have a chance at a new life in CO.

If you are in a position to foster, please don’t hesitate to apply or reach out. Also, we know it’s the time of year that people travel or have weekends out of town - we have temp fosters that can help. Don’t let that deter you from fostering!

Adoption story - Ziggy (previously Mischief) 🐱

The news we have all been waiting for………. Ziggy (previously named Mischief) is in her forever home 👏. Ziggy arrived in CO from Cleveland, TX last November. She was previously a stray living on the streets but was taken in by a kind street feeder and rescue partner in Cleveland. Although Up Pup is primarily a dog rescue, we have helped several cats and were happy to offer this girl a chance at a new life.

Ziggy settled into her foster home and received some applications but they never panned out into a meet and greet. As she sat in foster care for months, we worried she wasn’t getting the attention and interest she needed. We made the decision to reach out to Teddy Cat Cafe ( ) and see if they might be willing to partner with our rescue and have a new kitty at the cafe. Thankfully they said yes! Ziggy enjoyed her time at the cafe - playing with other cats and getting lots of attention from visitors. If you haven’t visited the cafe, please do!! It’s the cutest little place where you can hang with cats and shop for adorable, unique cat related goodies 🐈‍⬛ 🐈

After only a short time at the cafe, Ziggy caught the eye of a couple that was looking to adopt. They loved her sweet, silly, playful personality. And the rest is history! Ziggy is loving life at her new home, hanging with her mom while she works from home and getting lots of attention and playtime. Her parents love her so much. We are so happy that she was able to find her people - it took a little time, but she is right where she is meant to be 💕
