Only one of her six puppies has been adopted and we are seriously shocked😳 No clue how these incredible puppies haven’t had more interest 🥺

• The 6 pups on the first collage are all ready for forever families and are fully vetted

• The second collage is composed of 5 of our “medical pups,” who are receiving additional vetting, which includes heartworm treatment (+ Hera). HW treatment is covered by the rescue

Gabby

Gabby arrived a few days ago and is settling into her foster home. Thank you Courtney for fostering for the first time with Up Pup so she could have a second chance! 🥺 We can’t say yes to dogs unless with have fosters 💪🏻

Gabby was dumped at a shelter in NM on Thanksgiving and has been there ever since. The shelter staff let her hang out in the office all day and night and she does great. She is also good with other dogs and has a very sweet demeanor🩷

Gabby is:

• Around a year and half old and is 40 lbs
• Vetted and heartworm negative
• Friendly, smart and sweet
• Dog friendly
• Appears to be fine with cats (foster has a cat)

What her foster mom has discovered so far:

-she’s totally fine with cats she’s more afraid of them then anything so stays away
-she definitely feels safer with females (warming up to my husband but prefers me)
-has a fear of coming in and out through the sliding door so we are working on making that a positive thing
-loves the snow!
-loves to snuggle and be right next to you at all times 💕

Gabby is the perfect mix of snuggle bug but also would love to be a Colorado adventure dog 🏔️

Puppy Pre Adoption applications are open! 🐶

Shira’s puppies are growing fast and are now 5 weeks old! They are the sweetest babes and are getting the best care in their foster home 🥺 (we appreciate you )

We are opening up pre-adoption applications for the babies in hopes that they will having loving adopters lined up to welcome them home when they are old enough. They will need to be at least 8 weeks and will have had their first set of vaccines before going into adoptive homes.

There are 4 boys and 2 girls. We think Mama Shira is an Aussie, Shepherd or Setter mix. Whatever she is, she is gorgeous and has a personality to match!

Let’s get these babies into amazing homes!

Help! 🆘 Denver foster needed beginning this Saturday for Zara! Otherwise she will miss transport 😭

With one of our other dogs, Misty, being returned back to us, we had to shift some fosters around asap to accommodate Misty coming back to us. However, now Zara is out of a foster and needs a foster to travel!

Zara is literally Scooby Doo in female version. Zara is around 60 lbs and between 1-2 years old. She’s a big baby and has so much love to give🥺

As you can see, the first video is where she came from. The street Zara was on had a neighbor who was poisoning the dogs! 🤬 The street feeder knew she was such a sweetie and didn’t want her to have that fate.

Zara has since then been spayed and fully vetted. Sadly, she’s heartworm positive, but we are treating her for it and covering the costs. Zara is being fostered with two other dogs.

We’d ideally love for another confident, friendly pup in the home, or she’s fine as a solo pup as well.

All foster supplies are provided and loaned by the rescue.

Edit: foster found, but she will be looking for a forever family!

Meet our first intake of 2025: Gabby💕 She needs a Denver foster this Thursday!

Gabby is a super sweet pup who is described as “a very loving dog” from the shelter staff and volunteers.

She has an opportunity to come to Denver THIS Thursday 1/9 and needs a foster here please.

Angel baby, Maisy, is probably the cuddliest dog we’ve ever had. She is adoptable in the greater Denver area and is good with dogs and cats! She has not yet been around kids.

Adoptable Carly update!

Sweet girl just got spayed and is settling in nicely with her foster family in Houston. She’ll be making her way to Denver very soon, and we are so excited to meet her!

Adoptable Dahlia!💕

Dahlia is looking for a forever home in the greater Denver area. She’s a total love bug and everyone who meets her just adores her - dogs and humans alike!

Dahlia was rescued literally within 30 minutes of being EU* at an overcrowded shelter in Texas due to lack of interest and space - despite being volunteer and staff favorite!

At 44 lbs and 2 years old, she is full grown. She has been fully vetted as well and is currently residing in Denver, at her foster home. 🏠

Per her foster:
“Traits: she’s goofy, SUPER cuddly, plays well with other dogs. Can be high energy and want to play but also is always down for some couch snuggle time. Is a little nervous when first meeting someone new, but after a few minutes she’s melting on your lap. 100% potty trained. Would do best with a family that already has a confident dog so she can take their lead!”

Dahlia is unfortunately heartworm positive, but luckily this is treatable and is NOT contagious to other dogs. Dahlia is currently undergoing treatment, which is paid for by Up Pup.

Puppy spam! 🐶♥️

Let’s take a moment to fully appreciate these amazing puppy pics 😍 Thanks !!

Mama Shira and her 1 month old babies are loving life in their foster home. They are doing a lot of sleeping, eating, and are starting to have longer playtime windows in between. They are of course getting lots and lots of cuddles with their foster family and are starting to reveal their adorable personalities. They are the sweetest little babes. Mama Shira continues to take motherhood in her stride and whoever adopts her is going to be so lucky! She has such a lovely disposition ♥️ She was pulled from the euthanasia list at a shelter in TX last month, and surprised us with her little cubs (4 males and 2 females) shortly after leaving the shelter.

Although these babies are not currently available to go into new homes until they have their first round of vaccines at 8 weeks old, we will be accepting pre-adoption applications next week. 🙌 Adopted 🙌

Niko (now Mikko) 🐕

Niko was found abandoned on the streets of Cleveland, TX. He was taken in by one of the wonderful street feeders that spends so much of her time and resources helping animals in need in her area. She sent out a plea to rescue groups to see if someone could help Niko, so that’s where Up Pup came in.

Niko spent time in a foster home in Texas where he fell in love with the foster’s child and showed off his super sweet personality. He went straight into a foster to adopt home when he arrived in Colorado and won over his adopters and their young son. He did deal with some young puppy behavior issues and his adopters recruited a trainer and put in the work to set him up for success 💪🏻❤️

His adopters renamed him Mikko and say “he’s really fitting in well with our family! We really adore him and he has a lot of love to share. He especially loves our son, loves to cuddle with him on the couch at night”

He also enjoys sitting out on the deck in the morning to stare out at the elk that roam around 😊

We are so happy for you Mikko!

💕Happy adoption Tokyo!

Tokyo was found on the streets of Cleveland, Texas - pregnant, covered in fleas, with raw/red skin, worms and heartworm positive. She was taken in by our amazing Texas foster, Estie 😇, who nursed her back to health and gave her a safe place to stay through heartworm treatment. She had the sweetest demeanor and we knew we had to find her an amazing home in Colorado after everything she had been through.

Tokyo, now Brynn, was adopted a couple of months ago and has been living her best life in the Colorado mountains. Her mom calls her “Brynn the Beautiful” and says “She is very playful. Loves her three kitty brothers. Loves going for walks in the snow. And, as you know, enjoys her “ baby”. She waits at the door every evening hoping to scare the deer away from the bird feeders. She is such a pleasure and I am so fortunate to be her guardian.” 🥹

🆘 Misty is being returned to the rescue after two weeks and needs a Denver area foster ASAP! 🆘 We are looking for a foster with no cats, and maybe no dogs for the moment to help her decompress. She is good with kids.

Misty was transferred to us after being rescued from a hom*** scene in Texas and has definitely experienced abuse prior to coming to Up Pup. She needs a foster who will help her feel safe and can work with her on her confidence.

This is obviously not a great start to 2025, but Misty needs our help asap.

Thank you so much for an incredible year. Together, we have rescued nearly 80 souls (including two kitties!) in 2024.

It’s been a tough and challenging year, but we are growing, and there are learning curves as we navigate out of being a once “tiny rescue.”

Truly, Up Pup and Away wouldn’t be possible without your support; and for that, we are eternally grateful.

Wishing you all a safe, and enjoyable New Year. Can’t wait to see what we collectively do together for animals in 2025🩷

(Ps, the pictured pup is of Trixie, formerly “Taylor” from the “Country Litter” earlier this year! She just turned 1️⃣ and now lives in the mountains here in CO. She goes on the coolest adventures with her mama, Lauren and other fur siblings! ❄️)

Our darling girl, Foushee, safely arrived to Denver yesterday! We are looking for cute name suggestions, other than her shelter name please 👀 Any suggestions?💕

She’s around a year old and roughly 45 lbs. She honestly looks like a baby deer and we think she definitely has some Carolina Dog in her!

When she got off transport, she was TERRIFIED. Poor girl was so confused and scared, yet was the sweetest baby. We also noticed her ear is split in half from an old injury that has healed.

When she got to her foster home, she was quick besties with her confident foster brother, who was showing her she’s safe and loved. We think she will really thrive with another confident, friendly pup in her future forever home.

Per her foster:
“She’s doing great! Such a sweet girl. Her and Jax play in the yard a lot, she has not had accidents, eating well, loves to be pet, slept like an angel! She was afraid this morning on our walk so we only made it a block before turning around so we’ll work on that 😊”

Thank you to her foster for stepping up and helping!

🆘 Denver area: can you help us help a homeless man and his dog please? (Pic of Dexter for attention and to prove there’s always light at the end of the tunnel).❤️

We stumbled upon a very kind homeless man who’s down on his luck. He and his dog, who he named “Baby”🥺, are living in an abandoned church and we want to help them.

We’ve already provided a dog bed, harness, leash, collar, some dog toys and treats, a doggy jacket, a bag of food, and some dewormer for his dog, Baby, but now we’d like to help Baby’s owner. He was SO appreciative and blown away for the help🥲

Baby’s owner’s name is Thomas, and he acquired Baby 3 months ago, after a person who was going to jail gave Baby to him. Thomas and Baby are besties who need help.

We are working on a plan to get Baby vetted and neutered, but are hoping to help Thomas too.

We’d love to gather some items for Thomas - can you help us help him?

We can pickup so long as the items are within the metro Denver area. Clothing does NOT need to be brand new:

- Large size clothing, especially winter wear
- Waterproof gloves
- A warm hat and scarf
- Winter coat (L)
- Warm socks
- Hand warmers
- Blankets
- Backpack
- Granola bars or protein bars of some sort/non-perishable food
- Chapstick
- Lotion
- Hygiene wipes
- Toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash
- a nicer shirt to help Thomas get an interview or a job

Carly, our EU pup from BARC, left the shelter earlier this week and is doing fabulous!

We did a 4DX test and she thankfully tested negative across the board. Not too much longer til she makes her way to Denver and will begin her search for a forever family💕
