As of January 2020, we have completed 81 petsits. We specialize in sits of 3 weeks or longer, but we gladly sit for shorter periods We are married Baby Boomers who are passionate about making your pet's staycation as perfect as possible while you're away! We are happy to go to your home in order to watch your pet! Whether you're going to your home in Europe or spending a few weeks on a tropical va

cation, we're here to help make the separation easier. Better than kenneling your pets or having a neighbor drop by to feed them, we spend every night in your home, so it appears occupied. For employed pet parents, we often spend more time doting on the pets than the owners heave time for. Our20-year career selling residential real estate in NJ meant that we spent a great deal of our time in other peoples homes, usually when they weren't home, and often escorting strangers. experienced background makes us the ideal couple to watch your pet. We're very responsible and will treat both your home and pet as our own. Contact us today if you're interested in having us give your pet the home in deserves! They will play, have fun, and be well taken care of while you're gone!

Tomorrow Bella (a 14-year-old Lab) will welcome her owners back from Canada and Hans and I will head for our next pet sit, caring for 3 cats in Powhatan, Virginia. (our 4th sit for them this year.)

We have 2 calendar openings left this year:
12 days from Sept 30- Oct 12. Best suited for a sit in the Richmond or Hampton Roads areas.
5 weeks at the end of the year: From another sit in Powhatan that endsDec. 11th andJan 17th when we're due in Fairfax, VA.

04/09/2016

We will be in Virginia Beach,VA caring for one cat, one mature Boston Terrier, and a lively 10-month old St. Bernard.
Still looking to fill our calendar from mid-December forward.

12/12/2015

We've now been on the road pet sitting for over 4 years. In 2015 we've sat for pet owners in 6 States: MD, VA, NC, VT, OH, & GA. The shortest sit was about a week, the longest was 8 weeks. Most were for 2-3 weeks.

More than half were repeat visits, so we knew the pets already. Most sits were for dogs and/or cats. Twice there were also chickens. It's such a treat to have fresh eggs as close as the backyard.

Our strangest combination of pets was 1 dog, a bunny a hedge hog and a couple of frogs who all lived in the house with us,and there were chickens which lived in a coop out back.

Life is good; the adventure continues. Our last petsitting gig for the year will be back in VA.

26/09/2015

This fall we'll be making the trip back and forth between central NC and the DC Metro area.

We'll be doing repeat sits for a dog and a cat in Cary, NC and sitting for 2 cats in Columbia, MD.

I hope we can find a sit to fill the last 2 weeks of the year. We finish in Cary on Dec. 15th and Start a new sit in Columbia on Jan. 1st.

We are still able to do this without charging for our services.

26/09/2015

We're on our way to Charlotte for one of the more unusual sits we've had. We'll be caring for 1 dog, 3 hens, 2 frogs, a bunny and a hedgehog. Love it when we have a small backyard flock of chickens. Fresh eggs are wonderful

For the first time, we are housesitting at a house with no pets. Plenty of beautiful flowers in the garden though.

Dog and Chicken (a first) sitting The location is a hilltop home in the woods on about 12 acres amid farmland. There is even a farmland easement -- another first for us. Easements in our old home neighborhoods in NJ were generally for utilities or for a neighbor to use a driveway. Lovely habitat for birds. we hear owls at night and see songbirds on the feeders. The 6 pet hens have laid 4 eggs since we arrived yesterday. We will enjoy them. Our canine charge is a huge 1-year-old German Shepherd. He's a big puppy. We have to be careful to keep anything that he could conceivably chew on out of his reach.

Tomorrow we pack and Sunday we head to the Florida Keys

We will be there for the rest of Sept. This page needs work, I have to get Hans to load some of his beautiful photos of the pets we've sat for.

We would love some help from our friends in Florida to help us fill out calendar for the fall (and maybe the winter. We have openings for the 1st 2 weeks in Oct. Then we have a big gap from Nov. 2nd until Dec. 14th. It's a very economical alternative to kenneling as we work this as a

barter, and we don't charge for the service.
