We are seeking a new pack leader to join our team in Calgary.

Looking for an active, nature loving, caring human. Must have a reliable vehicle that can accommodate up to 6 dogs safely. Experience is an asset. Willing to train the right candidate.

Part time to start, will lead to a full time position for the right person.

Pack leaders are responsible for:
-The safety and well-being of a pack of up to 6 dogs at a time.
-Transporting up to 6 dogs at time to and from various on and off-leash areas.
-Providing fun and adventurous outings for dogs of all ages and breeds.

Personal specifications and Experience Required:
-Must have valid drivers license
-Must have access to a vehicle that can safely transport up to 6 dogs at a time.
-Must have clean driving records.
-Must provide criminal record check.
-Must love the outdoors, and be able to to work in all conditions.
-Must be physically fit and can walk at least 10km day.
-Must be able to drive up to 50km day.
-Must be confident working independently.
-Must have strong organization and communication skills.
-Pet first aid (not mandatory, strong asset)
-Experience with dog training and dog handling (not mandatory, strong asset)

A petition that was started last fall to ban the sale of puppies in private retail stores has garnered more than 21,000 signatures so far.

Did you know the calls for people looking to surrender dogs has increased by 250% since 2020? 🙀

We are overrun with surrender requests and adoptions are slow. Kitten season is also upon us and we are overwhelmed with the calls of pregnant cats or moms with young kittens needing our help. 💔

During the height of the pandemic we could not keep up with the demand of adoption. Now more animals are being surrendered than we’ve ever seen before. 😿

We are still here, saving animals every day and we cannot do it without your support. 💕 Please consider getting involved in any way you can, become a monthly donor, consider fostering a pet, volunteer at our shelters and most of all if you are looking for a pet please consider adopting one in need! 🐶

Yesterday we reached out to the Ukrainian Consulate and various Ukrainian organizations to offer support (pet pack, vet checks) for other pets coming over with the Ukranian Refugees Canada is set to welcome.

Today we were connected with a lady in Kyiv who has stayed behind with her pets and husband to feed and care for pets left behind. She has been using her own resources and they are running low.

We have committed to sending funds to assist with pet food as well as pet packsp/ vet care for those coming to Canada.

CTV will feature the story tonight at 6 pm.
