Tonight, August 25th, Officer Railey and K-9 Leo started their first shift after graduating from K-9 school. During the 720-hour school, Leo was taught obedience, protection, searches, narcotics, tracking, and criminal apprehension.

Congratulations to Officer Railey and K-9 Leo. If you see them around, congratulate them on a job well done.

Heartbreaking news out of Kansas City Missouri Police Department today.

“Rest In Peace, Officer James Muhlbauer and K-9 Officer Champ.

The partners were killed in the line of duty Wednesday night when a vehicle crashed into them while they were on patrol.

Muhlbauer was a 20-year veteran of KCPD, while K-9 Champ was on the job for one year.

𝗔𝗪𝗘𝗦𝗢𝗠𝗘 𝗝𝗢𝗕 to Torchlight K9, K9 Kevlar for finding a firearm 48 hours after it had been thrown in some pretty rough country! 👏👏👏⁣

“[K9 Kevlar & Handler] Assisted State Game Warden in an article recovery that had a 5mph NE wind speed. The gun was out in a mesquite thicket. I started Kevlar at a 45 and worked him into the wind in a grid pattern. The gun was left out there almost over 48 hours. The call was [for] a hunting injury that resulted in K9 Kevlar being asked to find a weapon after it had been thrown. The gun was approx 25ft NW of the hunting blind. We were able to track back to it in some pretty rough country.”⁣
