Zejtun Stray Cats

Poor Fred has still been lethargic and vomiting 😔 Today he had another vet appointment. He was given a drip as he was dehydrated, he doesn't have a fever anymore as he is taking antibiotics and was given an anti vomiting injection and pills for the next 2 days and antibiotics via injection to cover the next 24 hours. We bought him a gastrointestinal kitten wet food to see if he shows any interest. He needs our prayers as if he doesn't improve until Saturday he needs tests to be carried out.

Thank you Rosalind and Ryan as your donations covered this vet bill today ❤️ Without people's support we wouldn't be able to care for these cats and kittens ourselves as we all have our own personal cats and colonies.

Please keep on neutering your strays! Ask for help! Don't wait until they are pregnant or have kittens. Their mother was caught within a few seconds by their feeder. Kitten food, vet visits and medication costs a lot of money :(

Fred and George have been in foster care for over a month thanks to Sarah Abela then Joanne. We don't post much about them as unfortunately they remained scared of human contact 😢

Poor Fred was vomiting yesterday and was off his food so he had a vet check. He had a bit of a fever and was given injections (antibiotics and to reduce the fever). He is on medication and needs our 🙏 to eat so he can take his medication. GWS Fred! This is his bill and anyone who supports us will be helping us to cover his bill ❤️

Thank you so much to the Trainee Police Constables who are currently undergoing basic training courses at the Academy for Disciplined Forces in Ta’ Kandja for your donation of cat food tins! It was a lovely surprise! These will be distributed to Sarah Abela and Nicole Farrugia who have accepted stray cats to be added to their colonies and have spent a fortune on vet bills when we couldn't fully support them due to lack of funds. Thank you!

We have at least 10 neutering appointments booked this month and we have some stray cats we'd like to trap for a vet visit.

Well done Joanne Gatt for trapping this kitten this evening! He was found running around Santa Marija area. Please if you spot more let us know or you know who the mother is as we don't know where he came from. There might be another similar one or perhaps it was him running around in another area nearby. Thank you Dayna Camilleri Clarke for informing us about him! We can sleep better knowing he has been caught as he was running around and he was very hungry. We hope Sonic turns out to be sociable so he can be placed for adoption ❤️

This month we'll be neutering some kittens which are old enough for neutering but not friendly enough for adoption :( Anyone has a safe enclosed area in Zejtun where they can be released and will be fed and looked after on a daily basis please?

Meet Oreo (black and white cat) and Bounty (grey and white cat).

Oreo and Bounty are 4-5 months old and are looking for their loving homes 🏡 They've been vaccinated and are litter-trained and healthy. They're also used to being indoors and are friendly.

We are so grateful to Hugs Charity Shop in Mosta for donating 100 euros to be spent at Diana's Petshop! Please visit their shop to buy or donate! You'll always find a bargain!

This is what we got... 2 large bags of dry food for Michelle Brincat and Stella Cumbo who have been fostering Zejtun Stray Cats non-stop for over a year! They have always purchased the dry food and litter and we helped with wet food whenever we could. So it was the least we could do!

The kitten food is for Oreo, Bounty, Hazel, Snowy and Nutmeg who are with 2 different fosterers. The gourmet pate is always handy to have as a backup incase we have another dental case like Tuxu ❤️

Thanks to the vouchers we got this week from the points collected from Royal Canine products and the BCRS vouchers we got thanks to the bottles donated by Graziella, we were able to purchase dry food for Sarah Abela ❤️

Sarah helps us when we need fostering and transporting cats to the vet. Whenever we didn't have funds she paid for operations. When cats need to be seen by a vet as an emergency she always offers to help no matter how busy she is! Lastly she offered to have some neutered cats released with her colony as they couldn't be placed back where they were found originally as the area was too dangerous.

So this catfood is being donated as a thank you on behalf of Princess, Prince and Orca ❤️

We would like to thank St Thomas More College Middle & Secondary School, Zejtun for donating this food to us this morning after their Animal Awareness Month!! Thank you to the staff and students! We truly appreciate it! Thank you Stella Cumbo for collecting them on our behalf!

We will be passing on the tins to Rosina who is the feeder at the School. All her cats have been neutered except a few males which we will try to trap again in the following weeks. We have trapped cats which needed dental operations and one needed her eye removed.

The rest our fosterers will use when we have cats in recovery cages. Thank you so much!

Here's Hanini a San Girgor Cemetery stray cat with nose cancer ❤️ A few months ago he was in a bad condition until Stella Cumbo and Anna Gafa took him to the vet and he has been on medication since. Thank you Stella who kept him ❤️ Should anyone wish to donate some wet food for him please let us know 😻

We have helped cats from all over Zejtun. If you see a sick cat please let us know. When we can we'll help!

Tuxu is back at the fosterers ❤️ He needed 4 teeth extracted. He has antibiotics for the next few days. Please if you are considering to adopt him let us know before we release him❤️ Thank you to those who messaged to see how he is. A huge thank you to his feeder Diona for paying his bill, Marisabelle for dropping him off and Michelle Barbara for picking him up and fostering him ❤️

Here he is enjoying his first dinner after surgery. He ll get another portion later on as he is pi**ed off that we didn't give him breakfast this morning 🫣

Anyone from Gebel San Martin, Tuxu is in our care. Tomorrow he has dental surgery as he has around 4 rotten teeth which need to be removed asap as his mouth is infected. He already started antibiotics. If anyone is interested in adopting him and letting him live the rest of his life indoors please let us know. He would be truly grateful! He has settled indoors very well..he loves yummie food and a cushion oh and lots of affection 😻

Today's bills...We have 10 kittens in our care. Not all are ready to be adopted yet. Bounty and Oreo are definitely ready to join their forever family asap ❤️ They are dewormed and deflead and have been vet checked as they are fully vaccinated 😻 They are around 4 months old.

What a lovely way to end the evening with a very generous donation of bottles from Graziella! We are truly grateful as this week we have a lot of expenses between kitten Topsy having diarrhoea so he needs a vet visit and gastrointestinal food and medication. Also on Thursday we have Tuxu's dental operation and another stray has a vet appointment due to a wound if we manage to trap her. Thank you all for caring about our Zejtun Stray Cats ❤️

Would anyone like to foster Bella from Saturday so she's recovered from her neutering procedure until she gets adopted? She is deflead and dewormed and we can have her vaccinated in 2 weeks time. All you need is a spare bedroom/bathroom/large cage and spend time playing and petting her ❤️

Sweet Nero just tested positive for FIV 😢 He tested negative for FELV, giardia, parvo and corona. Would anyone consider adopting him as an only cat or perhaps with another FIV positive cat? We are still under shock as he is such a healthy cat with silky soft fur. He was only trapped as he managed to cut his paw but it is almost healed. Thank you to his feeder Dayna Camilleri Clarke who covered his vet bills and who will be keeping him for recovery and in the meantime we hope to find him an amazing home 😻 He is neutered, dewormed and deflead.

Thank you Leanne Bugeja for going to Borg Cardona Pet Supplies today on our behalf with the Royal Canine boxes and labels. Thank you to those who donated we got three 10 euro vouchers! We'll add money to buy a large bag of cat food for Sarah Abela who has taken in a few strays from other colonies and added them to hers as their colonies weren't safe.

Also thank you Joanne Gatt who had went to Nestle last week but we didn't have enough items for a voucher. Hopefully we'll have enough next time!

We are on the look out for an injured black cat near Gold Lady/ Tal Hniena area 😢 Please if you see him call Animal Welfare 1717 and stay with him until they trap him and take him to be seen by the vet. We know of a black cat in that area which we trapped and neutered last year so it's possibly him. Thank you Michelle Brincat for going to look for him but he wasn't in the area where he was last seen. She also spoke to the feeder of this black cat we know of (might not be him) but until this morning he ate breakfast and he was fine. Hope he can be trapped and be seen by a vet asap 🙏

Today Oreo and Bounty had a checkup and were vaccinated ❤️

Tuxu also had a checkup. The few teeth he has left are rotten. He is to take antibiotics until he has his dental surgery next Thursday then he will continue with more antibiotics and painkiller. He must be in a lot of pain but it doesn't stop him from eating! He weighs a bit more than 5 kgs. He also had a lump which the vet drained. He will also be deflead and dewormed.

Jack the cat which needed his eye removed has found an amazing home with another blind cat! We couldn't be happier!! A huge thank you to Stella Cumbo for loving him while he was in her care and Nicole for informing us about him!

While trapping Tuxu this little boy approached us and we managed to grab hold of him and place him in the extension. Unfortunately these past few days 2 of his siblings were found dead. We were not planning on trapping any more kittens unless sick as we still have 9 kittens in our care. We are 🙏 that he has a happy ending 😻🏡❤️
