Big things on tiny paws are on the way for Christmas 🎄 😍 Should be start the guessing game for how many?!

We are extremely excited to announce, now that it's sunk in and really real, that our long planned and dreamed F1 outcross girls Max (black) and Claire (chocolate and white) are expecting!

In recent years there has been much much less effort and talk about outcrosses being done in the sphynx breed to preserve and improve genetic diversity, and improve health, but the stud book is indeed still open to do so. Over a decade ago plans started being hatched to contribute to this effort in our program, and it was decided to move forward, but slowly and carefully. Many years were spent just doing health testing on our Devon Rex boy that was selected prior to his first breeding to ensure that he was the best candidate for this project. Thankfully, we had good testing results over many years and with help from several friends he was given a girlfriend to begin bringing new genetics into our amazing breed.

Max and Claire are some of the most wonderful cats that I've ever had the pleasure of living with. Their temperment is sound, their health testing wonderful, and they are beautiful examples of the breed. I CANNOT WAIT to see all of the big things that their little ones go on to do in this breed ❤️

The first of our winter litters has been confirmed! It looks like we've been really good this year and Santa will be bringing us kittens!

Rainy days are for kitty hugs and snuggles, and Max is really good at that!
Max is an F1 Sphynx, and part of a decade long planned outcross project to help preserve health, type, and temperment in the Canadian Sphynx breed. She is just purrrrfect! We are so happy with how gentle and sweet Max and her sister Claire are, and cannot wait to see that legacy move forward with their kittens.

Fingers crossed that we will have happy news for them soon!

We have decided to neuter our sweet squishy boy, Eye Candy, aka Candy Man. He is a lover and a sweet soul who does well with other cats, dogs, and children. He is a very good boy who is religious about his litter box, loves to snuggle, and is treat motivated. He was born 2/5/2022 and is still a young guy.

Breeding is very difficult sometimes- especially when our desires may not necessarily align with that of the cat, or when decisions must be made in the gray zone.
We have decided that it is time for Jackie to retire. She was an absolutely fabulous mother and LOVED her babies, and has a wonderfully healthy pedigree history and DNA profile. However, she took the recent loss of her singleton kitten so incredibly hard. After he passed she spent weeks crying for him all throughout the house, and when she couldn't find him she finally settled into her bed in depression. She stopped eating, stopped playing, and refused any and all attempts to help with her grief by allowing her to be involved with the raising of sugar and pussy's kittens. From this point we considered a few options to see if we could possibly help her to recover from the loss. Ultimately the decision to spay her and remove the influence of her hormones was the path we chose to take and since then she has made a good recovery and we have seen the light return to her eyes, and her sweet playful demeanor return.

Jackie is a sweet and gentle little soul. She loves to sit on your lap and snuggle, and prefers a quiet handle. She is in search of her forever retirement home with a warm bed and a big heart. Please let me know if you are interested in finding out more about Jackie.

This is what has kept our Distinct Program around, and successful, over all of the years of heartbreak. Breeding can be so very tough on the heart, but giving the gift of a purposefully and carefully bred pet to an individual or family to cherish and love for years to come.... is worth the tears that come with the task. The photos and updates I get from the cats that were born in our nursery, or retired from breeding, are the light of every day when they come.

Things are a bit crazy in the house with our 2 legged kiddos doing all the Christmas and holiday things, and trying to get Jackie's kittens prepared to go on to their new homes.
We hope that everyone finds joy, even in something very small, this Christmas! If you aren't on the nice list for 2022, there's always 2023!

🤫😅 Cats out of the bag now that we are seeing definite and obvious signs. Jackie will be expecting a litter of tiny minions late September. Mom is doing fantastic now that the morning sickness has let go, but she's about to get a spa treatment to tidy up those hard to clean areas since her belly is already getting huge.

Distinct family- we will be in need of a very very special home to foster or foster to adopt 2 cats that will be coming back to us. They are a bonded male/ female sibling pair from our Dolly x Bronx litter in 3/2015. They are looking for a new home due to no fault of their own, and at this time I will not be providing many details. An extremely tragic and unfortunate event has happened in their life that has left them without their loved ones.
If this is something that you are interested in, please send me a message or text and I will go from there searching for a good fit for these 2.
