Our fantastic County reps are gearing up in preparation for the 2024 Inter County Challenge – held at Bury Farm 6-7 July.

If you have any questions about selection, please speak to your county rep in the first instance and Sharon or Katharine (via email) if you have any other questions.

Do remember to give your county pages / groups a follow as they are the best place to stay updated with ICC team news.

Inter County Challenge 2024 Conditions of Entry:

Riders must be paid members of British Dressage by the close of entries of the final
(either Club or Full).

Horses must be 4 years or over.

Riders and horses (individually and combination) must be eligible to compete in
accordance with BD rules in the correct rider group/level as at the date of close of
entries – all combinations and individuals to be eligible for either Bronze or Silver only.

If a combination has competed at the Youth, Senior or Para Home Nations, inter regionals or the Area Festival Finals (not including FSM classes) in 2023 they may take part, but this must be at the level above.

This competition is open to Preliminary, Novice and Elementary riders only.

If a combination has competed at the Winter Championships 2023 or Summer National Championships 2023, they are not eligible for the Inter County Challenge.

Riders can try out for the county of their choice, but ideally either they or their horse
should reside in that county. London will incorporate those inside the M25, and the
riders this affects can choose to ride for either London or any other of the S&E counties.

Riders may ride in different counties if they have friends there or connections, but they must elect before the start of the process which county they intend to ride for. Once the rider nominates the county of choice they cannot change.

Riders are permitted to apply at more than one level and with different horses if they
meet the criteria. However only one combination will be selected. In extreme
circumstances dispensation may be given for a rider to ride two horses. This is done by application to the DO’s and regional Chair.

Hi everyone we are super excited about putting the team together for the 2024 ICC - to be held at the fabulous Bury Farm Equestrian Village on 6-7 July😊. We had so much fun last year with the first ever Bucks ICC team of superstars 🤩

The training clinics are optional but we recommend you try and attend one if you can! All training is with our amazing Bucks County Coach: Edward Chitty Equestrian 😍

We are yet to confirm venues, but our planned dates are as follows:
Training clinic 1: Sun 14 April
Training clinic 2: Sat 27 OR Sun 28th April

Team selection day - including test riding with BD judge: Sat 25 or Sun 26 May
Team training day: Sat 8 or Sun 9 June

Selection day competitions, we are aware of a yellow warning issued for tomorrow.
We are still planning to run, but if the warning level increases we will act in accordance with the advice of the venue and BD rules, which can be found in the BD rule book.

We are looking forward to welcoming our shortlisted riders to the Test Riding Day Widmer Equestrian Centre tomorrow. First one down the centre line is at 9.30 and we are going right through to the afternoon.

We are aware of a yellow wind warning and so I would ask any competitors who are concerned to contact us directly.
