I always try.... Call it the nurse in me. I've done this a few times over the years but never got a chance to document it. Sometimes babies don't have a good start. This little Halloween baby northern blue tongue skink was born lifeless and still. Upon finding it, I immediately removed it from it's sac (which was stuck over it's head) and performed cpr. After some time, I noticed a faint heartbeat. I continued with rescue breaths and the heartbeat got stronger... Eventually it was taking breaths on its own, albeit shallow and sporadic.. Eventually it righted itself and I'm happy to say it is doing extremely well, eating and showing me how big and scary it can be!!

Not the best quality video, but an interesting one nonetheless. Baby pink tongues do not have pink tongues at all! They are born with black tongues that change to match the skink's name as it grows!
