I should have shared more with y’all when Emm was still with us ❤️ So now I’m making up for lost time.

Emmitt really did go EVERYWHERE! Here he is in Rockport having lunch with his cousins celebrating his great granny’s birthday…just as happy as a clam! This was also his first - but not last - trip to the beach! ❤️

Friends and Family…a belated thank you for all of the birthday wishes ❤️ I hope you’ll understand why I haven’t thanked y’all sooner - but that Friday the 12th, we had to put our sweet Emmitt down…and things have been pretty sad around here.

Emm was 15 years and 7 months old. He came to live with us when he was just a few months shy of 8 years old and we can only hope we gave him the best years of his life. He passed peacefully at home, in his bed with his favorite blankey, pillow and toy, and with us by his side. We are still heartbroken and we miss him so much…but we are trying our best to heal. Yesterday we donated his last Chewy shipment and some toys to Dr. Cochran and the good people at Acres of Animals, and we begun work on a small memorial garden for him. Thank you to everyone who loved Emmitt and for letting him be a small part of your life. He got to meet people and go places most pups may not even dream of…and each one of you made his life that much more special.

Today marks 7 years since our sweet Emmitt came home with us and made our world a brighter place. It may sound silly - but I can’t begin to describe how much I love this dog ❤️❤️❤️ He can be a handful but I wouldn’t trade him for the world. As always - I love to thank Megan Carvajal for sharing Emm’s FB post with us and getting this whole big ball rolling and Stephanie Rene - and all of Emm’s shelter friends - for giving him all the love and care to help him make it through almost a year of being at ACC. We got there as soon as we could bubs! And for our whole network of friends and family who dog sit and support him with love and kisses when he has his bad days. These years wouldn’t have been as great without all of you! ❤️❤️❤️

Today is my Aunt Mer’s Birfday so this is a Mer appreciation post (plus a bonus pic of me 😝). My Aunt Mer is the best aunt a doggo could want. She always gives me hugs and kisses, she makes sure I get fed ON TIME, and threatens my mom if there are wrinkles in my blankey. Thank you for giving me a home to run away to if I’m ever mistreated.
