✨Our New Labels Have Arrived✨

Our initial labels were marketed for both isopods and millipedes, and a few millipede enthusiasts were kind enough to teach out to us and explain why our substrate may not be the most ideal for them. 👀

Some people reported using our substrate for their millipedes and never having any issues, but there is apparently quite the controversy within the Millipede community about including coconut coir in their habitat as safe due to risking digestive issues.

Again, it seems like the community is divided, many also saying it’s perfectly safe. So we decided, since millipedes are not our area of expertise, to play it safe and not market our substrate ideally to them.

We love how the new design came out, and this may be a bonus either way as our customers can now avoid wondering if our substrate is also good for bioactives. It’s a question we got often, and it certainly is! ☺️

While we get everyone familiar with us offering plants next to our isopods, we will be making some adjustments to the website, making them easier to access. For now they will be in our navigational menu, but eventually we want to make them visible on the front page along with all the categories of isopods we have up. ☺️

Also! Many of our isopods are available again. We’ve just updated the quantities as of yesterday evening — so those of you who were signed up for “notify me when back in stock” should have gotten your text/email alerts that some of them are in! 🔔

We have recently restocked on over 30 different isopods and added 10+ new isopods to our Ready To Ship page.

As we got into the hotter seasons, orders typically slow down as some areas of the country are already in the steady 100°s, but we will continue to be available and ship as long as it’s safe! Hey, everyone!
As many of you had seen, we sent out emails and put up posts about our blackout dates for shipping that was initially set between December 18th until February 2024.

Even when our customers were well aware they were probably not going to have their orders shipped for over a month, our orders still came in at normal rates. 😭🥹

Due to some unforeseen changes in our personal lives, the process of moving into a new location is moving along much faster than expected. This has given us the opportunity to open up more shipping windows! 🙌🏻

We opened up shipping as of last week on Monday January 8-10, and we have another opening for Tuesday January 16th.

This will be our last live species ship day until February, as far as we can currently expect!

With the process of moving to a new location, it’s hard to estimate when everything will be up and running in order for us to fulfill orders smoothly, so even though we say February… it’s a “just in case.”

We are working hard to open up windows as soon as January 22 and January 29. It will all be dependent on the move itself.

We will be sending out emails for every opening that comes up before February via email.
So, if you are not on our mailing list yet, you can sign up for our newsletter right on our website. 📨📝

** If you have already been in touch with us via email/text about your order being held due to low temperatures, we will continue to communicate weekly to take the best advantage of comfortable temperatures to safely ship your isopods.

SHORT STORY TIME!! USPS truly dropped the ball on holding this package for our client when it arrived from here in New Jersey to Colorado. Instead of calling our client with their phone number and name listed on the package, they shipped it right back to us. This all went down on November 9th, just a few days after we shipped them out. Now, we always pack with ice or heat packs whenever it is necessary, and guarantee our isopods will have enough food and moisture to survive a little over week, god forbid any delays are to happen. BUT 46 DAYS IN TRANSIT AND THEY ALL MADE IT BACK ALIVE!? Ya’ll. I’m… proud and impressed. … still pissed at that one specific post office in Colorado! … but relieved and impressed. Also we can’t thank this client enough for being in touch with us the moment usps turned their package away. I had to share this quite wild story.
