IT’S TIME! A very bitter sweet moment.
Trigger and I will be showing at the state fair @11 on 09/01! The auction will be the following day @11:30!

UPDATE ON TRIGGER: I’m so proud of him! His first show was today at the county fair and we placed 5th in senior showmanship! There has been so much improvement of his trotting, backing up and pivoting! He also did so good when we got him all pretty for showing! He was introduced to trimming his ear, feet, and chin hair, and clipping his hooves! A few weeks ago we were also able to put him in the pasture with his bestie Charlie. Him and Charlie are inseparable! They even got to load in the trailer together!

UPDATE: Trigger has made so much improvement! We found out a few weeks ago he LOVES the tarp! Something we’ve been working on lately, that he doesn’t love so much is being tied. He gets a little anxious being tied but other than that he’s been great. We also got the saddle on earlier this week and it didn’t even phase him. Today was his first time in the trailer and it was no problem! He was cautious for about a minute and quickly decided it wasn’t so bad. Since he did so well we decided to take him to 4-H! We went over the bridge and logs, opened a fence, and weaved through poles! Everything went smoothly! He got to meet a lot of new friends and even some cows! Trigger is very willing to learn new things and does so well!

UPDATE ON TRIGGER!! Working with him for the past few weeks there’s been a lot of progress! We were able to get the halter on him and start leading and backing up. We’ve also been working on lunging! He’s very good at following body language and verbal cues! Picking up his feet went very smoothly! Something that was also no problem was getting fly spray on especially the rub on in his ears! Trigger LOVES affection. He is the sweetest horse and will follow me everywhere until I pet/brush him! It has been so fun to figure out his funny personality and quirks! I can’t wait to keep making more progress with him!

Meet Trigger! His name is inspired by Roy Roger’s horse! Over the past day he has been able to eat out of my hand! I’m so excited to get to work with him and see his progress this summer!
