Helping Dogs Live Their Best Lives
My little dog Coco taught me what it meant to love a little life far beyond my own. For 14 years Coco was my little ray of sunshine sharing all his love, his grouchies, and his funny little quirks. He was with me through good times and bad. He was always there for me and had the best of everything I could give him. When he passed away I was crushed, haunted for days by our memories.
Thinking I couldn’t handle losing another little friend, I desperately looked for ways to numb the pain which led me to my local Humane Society. Even though I wasn’t ready to adopt again I found that spending time with other little Coco sized dogs not only soothed my soul but brought some joy and comfort to little dogs who were in need of cuddles. The more time I spent with these little dogs the more I wanted to do to give them some of the joy and comfort they gave me.
Today, not only am I visiting the shelter weekly to cuddle my favorite ‘littles’ but I’ve brought home a few fosters to so we have access to cuddles whenever we need them. The angels at the Humane Society work bravely through the tears and trials to give as many dogs as they can reach a better life. I too want to do my part by using WaggWorks as a platform to encourage people to support their local shelters and help spread positive ways to improve the lives of the dogs we love. By myself I can only do so much but if we each do what we can, as a group we can make a difference.
