Safe Haven still has 3 kittens available for adopted, one male and 2 females. They have been neutered/spayed and got their rabies vaccine. They are ready for their forever home. Born March 10. The gray male on left has been adopted. Stop by their thrift shop on Route 52 near Ocean State Job Lot and pick up an adoption application or contact us for one.

July 4th is just around the corner. Please keep your pets safe inside. Please make sure your pets have ID on them in case they get out by accident, especially cats. Many cats end up in shelters because they no ID to reunite them with their owners. Better yet, microchip your pets because collars can come off.

Please pay attention to your dog in this very hot weather. Please make sure they have access to plenty of water. Don't walk them far on hot pavement. They can burn their pads. Most important DO NOT leave them in a car while you run errands. The temperature can reach over 100 degrees in minutes even with the windows open.

I will be at Pet Supplies Plus in Fishkill on Saturday, June 22 from 2 pm - 4 pm. With my 3 kitties that are looking for forever homes. The little gray boy on the left has been adopted. But his brother next to him and his sisters are still available. They were born on March 10. Come by and fill out an adoption form.

One of our clients and her husband both passed away leaving their dog, Josey, alone. Their neighbor reached out to us for help finding her a home. I am thrilled that one of my volunteers with Safe Haven has adopted Josey! Safe Haven received no money for bring these two together even though they really could use the money. However, finding Josey a place of her own was the priority. This is not the first time Safe Haven has stepped in to help an animal find a home. Safe Haven could save so many more lives if they could raise the money to put in their stormwater drainage in order to open their animal shelter. So please consider donating to them or shopping in their cute thrift shop in Fishkill to show your support.

January is National Train Your Dog Month. Teaching your dog certain basic commands can possibly save its life. Like "stay" so your dog does not jump out of a car into traffic or "leave it" when it's about to eat something that is dangerous. Those are 2 important commands that every dog should know.

A pet sitting client of mine passed away a few years ago of a brain aneurysm and now her husband passed away this week. Their dog, Josie, is now alone. A neighbor has taken her in but cannot keep her. She is very sweet and did live with 2 cats. She is approximately 7 years old. She is available for adoption in Hopewell Junction. If interested, please contact me.
