Oh hi, I'm still alive and helping pet families despite it being ⌚👀 a year and three months since I posted last. I've never been much of a social media person and this past May we welcomed our first baby and, well, here we are!
So I figured I might as well introduce my little family and the reason I've been running behind, hard to reach, and occasionally (ha!) distracted and forgetful.
Meet my lovely wife, our son, and myself (on the left). We worked very hard for five years to bring him into the world, through trauma, infertility, surgeries, lots of needles, travel, frustration, hope and joy. My wife carried him and is the strongest person I know.
Last year we remodeled much of our 100+ year old house to make it safer and generally making it more in line with modern life (hello, dishwasher!), which was mostly a DIY experience with the help (and tools) of many wonderful friends.
My wife went back to work full-time as a science teacher, while I stayed home trying to run a business and take care of him alone for 9+ hours a day. After too many months of stress, accelerated premature aging (I see you gray hairs), a chronic wrist injury, and not feeling like either of us were getting to enjoy the family we worked so damn hard to create, she quit her job earlier this month.
It's been a few weeks now of me catching up desperately on work, thanking my wonderful families for their patience, and slowly seeing the light at the end of the overwhelmed and behind tunnel. I never stopped accepting new pets, for better or worse, but I never want to turn away a family in need of the rare services we provide. I have a wonderful friend who is helping me (I'll introduce her in another post), and I'm feeling really optimistic and happy that I get to keep doing what I love.
So, to all my clients who have been so kind and patient with delays and slow replies, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'd have lost sleep over being so behind if I had any left to lose. 🙏🏼💜 I'm grateful for being so blessed in so many ways and can't wait to see this business grow along with our wonderful little boy. 😊
