Onyx and Slate’s adoption has been postponed due to Slate having a (treatable) ulcer in his eye. We got our bill from these boys being fixed and other related visits for them and we knew the bill would be high. We have had to refer people to larger organizations with more resources as we are struggling to gain funds to pay off the bill. People are asking us to take in cats, and we want to help but this bill has to be paid off. 2024: 6 cats found their forever home. While this may not sound like a lot, we are a small rescue with 0 foster families . Out of these 6: 3 (50%) of the cats had an infectious disease. We are hoping to apply to more grants and hopefully win some in 2025. We are also hopeful to eventually get a space or more fosters for our cats. Thank you to all of our supporters. Thanks to everyone who was able to donate! We paid off last month’s bill and were able to get them fixed. This will be Onyx and Slate’s first Christmas and they have been very good boys. Onyx and Slate are scheduled to get fixed this weekend but we can’t get them fixed without paying off our vet bill from last month. ADOPTION UPDATE: Gigi! Remember Gigi? Our FeLV+ cat who found the most perfect home with a wonderful lady who adopts cats with Feline Leukemia. Well Gigi is doing wonderful! “She is really hard to get on camera! She loves playing so much and she is soooo fast! She is getting along with Luke so well, they play together everyday!” We love this for Gigi!

ADOPTION UPDATE: Twix! Twix (on the left) has gotten so big! Here is what her adopters had to say about our sweet girl: “Twix is amazing! She is a sweet, playful, and cuddly kitten who loves her new mouse toy and naps on the cat tree. She also loves wrestling and playing chase with her brother, Malcolm and snuggling together once they are tired. The only things she hates are the vacuum cleaner and the blow dryer. 😂🐱❤️” We miss little Twix but so glad she has such a wonderful home!!

A big THANK YOU to everyone who has donated to help Onyx (black kitten) and Slate (grey kitten; still deciding if we like this name) . We found out more about the guy that dumped them and all we can say is it is a sad situation. We are so thankful to have been in the right place at the right time. SURPRISE INTAKE: Our intakes are currently closed but the universe put me and my husband at the right place and the right time. We were leaving Walmart in our neighborhood when a guy pulls up in a truck and yells “Hey lady! You want a cat?” So I walk over and find out there are 2 babies. When asked why he was getting rid of them he flat out said “I got too many and don’t want them anymore”. I couldn’t believe what I just heard…. They are very crusty and one looks like it has a swollen eye. We are in NEED of donations! We need kitten food, toys, and monetary donations as we are 100% these guys aren’t fixed and need medical attention. If you can please give anything we would appreciate it! ADOPTION #12 : Twix! Twix went to her forever home during the middle of August. We didn’t get a photo until now because her new family is dedicated to making sure she adjusts well to their home and their resident cat. Twix is doing better everyday and will hopefully soon be best friends with the other cat who is also FIV+. Fun Fact: Twix traveled a total of 6 hours to be with her new family who absolutely loves her.

ADOPTABLE KITTEN SPOTLIGHT: Twix! Twix is a 9-10 week old kitten who is a ball of energy! Twix is FIV+ and is looking for a home with other FIV+ cats, or as a single kitten. We realize we will get a lot of comments about FIV+ and FIV- cats and how they can coexist. We understand they can and are a rescue that understands FeLV, FIV and FIP. However, our best recommendation to prevent other cats who are FIV- from contracting FIV is to place Twix in a single cat home or with other FIV+ cats. Twix is currently healing from her spay procedure and will be ready for adoption starting on August 9th.
