Getting on a cleaning rotation for your pup’s toys helps to make the process a whole lot easier and ensures that your dog always has clean toys to play with and learn from.
Separate the toys into groups and wash each group every other week. This will give the toys plenty of time to dry out (especially those rope & plush toys) and will ensure that your dog always has plenty of other favorite toys to play with at all times!
Always be sure to throw out any toys with large holes in the fabric or heavily chewed/damaged toys to keep your pup safe and omit them ingesting anything dangerous.

Watching your furry bestie play with their favorite toys and mind games can be so fun and entertaining! The sheer amount of joy and determination on their sweet little faces is absolutely adorable. But, did you also notice the astonishing amount of slobber, drool and dirt (and hidden bacteria) on those toys?!?
Here are some simple & effective ways to clean your pup’s favorite toys:
Plush & Rope toys:
If washing in the washer or hand-washing with detergent, be sure to use pet safe detergent to avoid anything that may make your pup sick. Cleaning them with a vinegar and water solution is also effective. Be sure to let them dry completely (either in the dryer or air-dry) to avoid any mold build up.
Plastic, Rubber & Nylon toys:
Many of these can be placed in the dishwasher and run on a regular cycle (no detergent required). Be sure to check the tag or instructions on the toy to ensure that they are dishwasher safe. You can also wash these toys by hand in your sink using mild dish soap and warm water. Alternately, you can use a mixture of white vinegar, baking soda and warm water.
No matter how you clean your toys, always make sure that they are completely dry (including any holes or openings) before you return them to your pup.
