It takes a village! Our free clinic on Grand Turk is over, and the team is heading home. I am so grateful to this amazing group of selfless individuals for a wonderful, yet often sad, week of helping animals. We will report the final numbers as soon as we sleep!

Hump Day Grand Turk 3- we thought it would be a slow one but it was NOT! We are up to 8 cases of TVT- transmissible venereal disease. 😢 We only had 4 last year all week! We are continuing to do everything we can for every animal we see. We are grateful to our partner-TCSPCA- and the many wonderful volunteers on this island!

Day 2 of Grand Turk 3:
This can be a tough place. While it is rewarding to help all the animals we do (48 today), it’s also very sad seeing those that we know will never have a home, never have a bed or a toy, never sleep indoors, never know love by a human. And there are just so many of them here. Here are some of them….

Day 1 of the Grand Turk clinic is history! The first day is always hectic with everyone trying to get a routine established. We did 26 surgeries and 24 appointments- not bad for 2 docs and their (amazing) team! We saw a lot of sadness today- 4 cases of TVT, a street dog with a badly fractured jaw, and several euthanasias.

We were SUPPOSED to spend most of today setting up our pop-up vet clinic! Instead, we were sidelined by this adorable baby donkey, which was born right next to our villa last night. We brought his momma carrots, apples, half a pumpkin, and a bucket of water. She clearly loves him so much! We do too!❤️ On a less cute note, our clinic starts at 8 am tomorrow.

4 Leaf Rover is headed back to Grand Turk next week for a free spay/neuter and medical clinic. It will be our third time traveling to this island with no vet care. The locals have organized a team of trappers to target the feral dogs. Wish us luck!🍀 Stay tuned for updates on our trip.
