This is one of Teddys first times out and about on lead so this was not about heelwork. It was about confidence, socalising and being relaxed on lead.
Notice I'm using a long lead (2 meters) so he can explore with freedom but without pulling

Now Teddy has had his vaccinations and can go down on the ground it changes his socialising slightly. But if he's more comfortable to be picked up for some support, I will do.
By rewarding him after he's seen something new, it teaches him that something positive follows something new and new things are good.
I am mind full to take it at his pace so he's comfortable so we are a good distance away from the shop entrance

I try and keep a similar set up to what the breeder had to keep it as stress free as possible. I also sleep in the same room as my pup for a few nights to help him settle, I do not let them cry it out but will support and comfort them.
