Sometimes, babies fail to fully develop certain parts of their bodies before they are born.
Here is an example of a congenital malformation: the skin around the naval (belly button) failed to fully close. This left an open space where the muscle inside is visible. The snake also suffered from a kinked back. You can clearly see the heart beating too!

The whole segment about ball pythons aired last Feb 8,2024 at UNTV's Good Morning Kuya.
Here we talked about what ball pythons are, where to get them, how to keep them and when to take them to a vet.
Another feature at 24 oras' Kuya Kim, Ano na? Segment. This time talking about Chinese soft-shelled turtles.
Chinese soft-shelled turtles are invasive (not part of the native ecosystem) species of turtles. They are usually seen as pests for destroying ponds, nets and fisheries and heavily compete with native species.
They are usually called "snapping turtle" in the Philippines due to their very bitey defensive behavior.
If you ever see one of these, turn them over to your local wildlife group or DENR office. Do not let them roam free in the wild.
