Linus Says---Degus are amazing and smart little rodents that hail from Chile. They are closely related to Chinchillas, but without the luxurious fur. Degus are a colony type pet, you so need to keep more than one. Degus are very interactive with their human counterparts, and can live up to 10 years. Degu colors range from the standard Brown Agouti (that is found in the wild), to more man-made colors such as Black, Blues, Lilacs, Cremes, Sand and Pieds. My Little Degu has nearly 20 years experience as degu owners. At the current time, we specialize in Black and Blue (non-Agouti) pieds. We do have Sands and normals, and will be breeding those in the next few months. Pictured here are past friends, Linus and Velma. Linus was a very special degu. Every time he saw us, he would squeal with excitement and he would roll, to show us how happy he was to see us. Linus was a special Degu and it's because of him that I still have these marvelous creatures in my life today. Many do not know a lot about these amazing animals, but they ad so much love to our everyday lives. Degus were introduced in both the US and Europe as lab animals, because they are prone to diabetes. They must have a very bland, low sugar diet. Some conscientious lab employees, realized what great pets these little guys would make, and thanks to some being snuck out of the lab, we all get to enjoy them today. Over the years, many new colors have been developed. I am here to show you some of mine. I do have babies from time to time, and I will advertise them here. We do live in Lake Havasu City, AZ. We have access to USDA Approved Pet Transports to get these little guys to you, if not near me. Degus are illegal in some states, including California, so if you live there, I cannot sell to you. My USDA license will forbid it. Please enjoy my page, and feel free to ask me any questions.
