A boutique style store specializing in rare and colorful saltwater corals that are not commonly found in the hobby. Our emphasis is on sustainability; we grow 85% of our corals in house, with frags taken from our large mother colonies. In addition, Morgan Moore the owner; has been published in CORAL and KORALLE magazines. She has written for Reefbuilders.com, Reefs.com, and been a guest speaker at MACNA and for various marine aquarium societies throughout the United States.

Happy weekend to you all! A few days ago I decided to reaquascape my entire 160 gallon reef tank. It’s been up for about 7 months and I haven’t been in love with the way the rock work looked plus some of my massive leathers weren’t facing the right direction to show them off to their full potential. I also run bare bottom on all my reef tanks and I could see big piles of detritus under some of the rocks and it was driving me crazy. So I took it all apart, got rid of most of the smaller rubble rocks I didn’t need, and opened up some large caves for my fish to swim through. Two days later I’m pretty happy with how things are looking. Even though this tank has only been up for 7 months, I have had some of my leathers for 6 years.

These bubble tips are all tank-raised and grow into wonderful clownfish homes. Getting a bubble tip anemone for your clown fish also helps to reduce their aggression towards other non-hosting corals like leathers and euphyllia.

I finally took the time this past weekend to move all of my frag racks from my 160 gallon reef so I can focus on turning it into a true display tank and put everything in my 80 gallon deep blue tank. You might wonder why a lot of our prices are so much cheaper than other vendors and if it's for REAL? I am able to keep things affordable by growing corals and by buying from other hobbyist farmers who do it for the love not the money. By supporting Reef Gardener you are supporting a whole bunch of great coral farmers who are passionate about bringing the best to the hobby. I feel like keeping a saltwater aquarium should be accessible to any budget. :)

Just a couple more days until I am back in the land of sunshine and palm trees, it’s been an amazing trip though.

Our prices are nearly always cheaper than other big stores, with much larger frags because I think you should actually get something for your money that you can see. Instead of paying $60 for a four polyp frag that looks nothing like the picture. If you press the Judge Me tab on our website you can view all of our customer reviews. 😊

Monster umbrella mushroom, it was open even bigger today. Planning to post it on Reefgardener.net tomorrow with several other new things. These mushrooms do great under medium/low light and are very easy to keep. They don’t like super clean water.

So many Ricordea to choose from on Reefgardener.net I can even make a pack for you. Ricordea are a great beginner coral that have glowing colors and grow well.
