Well, it was Petey's turn for a trip to the vet yesterday. Somehow cut his paw pad open and had to have some stitches. Resting up and should be healed in a few days.

Alfie update: Still getting treatment on the farm. Still feeling dumpy today. Not wanting to eat yet.

UPDATE: our boy was a great patient and received IV fluids and some nausea medication. His xrays didn't show any obvious foreign material or signs of obstruction. He was definitely having more pep in his step and and wagging his tail at the end of the day! Will be keeping a close eye on him the next few days. Thank you everyone for your well wishes!

Please keep Alfie in your thoughts today. He is not feeling right and going to the vet to get checked out. Moorpark Veterinary Hospital

Are you evacuation ready? As a horse rescue, with many animals to move, we have evacuation plans but in case we end up with horses in multiple locations we use ICE Products Maine Stays with our emergency contact info attached to the horse Maine.

READY TO ADOPT. Cupcake is a sweet 15yr QH mare 14.2h. She is broke to ride and doesn't like to go fast so she is great for beginner kids. Leadline, walk, trot. Let us know if you would like to know more about bringing this sweet mare into your hearts and home!

The two drafts saved from Wisconsin in December now have names! Meet Tundra and Aspen, named by our follower .m.leal thank you for the suggestions! These two are on their way today to the quarantine site in Texas where our hauler will pick them up in a couple of weeks. We can't wait to meet them!

So on to the good news.... There will be two additions to the rescue! These two lovely draft horses were Amish work horses from Wisconsin and saved from shipping to slaughter. They will be in quarantine for 30 days out there and then travel to sunny So Cal where they will get to live out their days together. They were a team and so it was important that we kept them together. We would love some name suggestions for these two lovely souls! Let us know your ideas!
