If anyone can help by fostering, adopting, fund raising or donating - this rescue need all the help they can get as they have to be out of their current premises by January. 😢
Dear Animal Loving Community and Supporters of Paws,
It’s a dark day for the welfare and safety of the animals of Qatar and we are devastated to make this post.
Sunday we received heartbreaking news that we have been given an eviction notice to leave our beloved shelter by end January 2022. Of course we still have to take stock of the situation but we wanted to ensure our supporters and partners are fully aware as we will need every ounce of help that people can muster.
Running an animal rescue organization in Qatar can be a hard and thankless task, we have been one of the rescue groups doing what they can to help animals in need, this news just paints a very bleak picture for the thousands of animals that still require help.
As of today, we unfortunately have to announce that we will not be able to help any new animals. We will try and advise on any animal in need but we need to put all of our resources to rehome the current animals in our care. Please understand our position.
Our highest priority is to get all of our 250 dogs and cats into either foster or forever homes. It is NOT an option for us to put them back on the street after everything they have endured. The shelter remains open for the next three months but the reality is that we won’t be able to rehome all 250 dogs and cats in that space of time. If we can’t find sufficient fosters we will desperately be looking for shelter space. If any of our partners can support us please get in touch.
It remains to be said that since Paws Rescue Qatar started 8 years ago, that we have rehomed thousands of animals, we have met so many amazing people - volunteers, visitors, school children, social groups and businesses. You have shown us the meaning of community, and we cannot thank you enough for your ongoing support. As a registered UK Charity, and established community rescue group, we are busy planning how we can continue to do what we love, which is rescue, rehabilitate and rehome. We will keep you updated as we go through the process.
We cannot get through this alone, we pray that you will be by our side through this time and help us ensure no one gets left behind!
