Hi all!
Here's a video of a much needed escape to the sea, after a long lockdown due to COVID-19, and a tiring two weeks straight of work.
Friday morning was cloudy and raining hard, almost a storm. I finished the job at 11,30 am (woke up at 5, as usual). I had everything ready, since it was a week or two that I was planning this trip. So, emptied the car from the veterinarian stuff and filled it with my fishing and survival gear. Checked everything 2 times, just to be sure, and departure at 2 pm from home.
The first fishing spot I chose was a 2 hour drive, 40 min walk and 5 minute rock climb. Very steep hill that plounged into the deep blue of my beloved sea. Interesting ledge 3 meters from shore, 50+ meters drop off in 25 meters from shore. Water clarity optimal for fishing, not too clear, just slightly opacued by the previous storms. A lot of foam on the rocks. Very frequent light changes. Perfect conditions. Something has to happen.
I brought 4 rods with me: a heavyweight 70 gram for 2,40 m, a medium 10-28 grams for 2,33m and a ultralight one 0-10 grams - 2,29 m. Medium heavy rod as backup, left in the car. First hook-up in only one hour of fishing, following 2 bites.
Big follow later in the evening but no luck. I decided to call it a day at 9,30 pm. Fast dinner in the car and 4 hours of much needed sleep in the frontseat.
High hopes for the following day, stay tuned!
