❤️I love it when I get videos like this from my students😊

Lucy is just 4 months old but after coming to classes and working on her recall Jude was able to let her have a run on Orton Scar feeling confident she would come back when called.

✨ Full marks for Jude and Lucy who have been doing their homework 💯

🐾If you are interested in puppy classes please get in touch - I have two spaces left in the class starting in Feb 🐕

Indie's had enough of lead walking due to her season so yesterday we went to Welly and Tails where she could run free safely. What a fantastic facility to have on our doorstep. The labs enjoyed running in the open space but Indie's favourite bit was the new scent wall. There's even a nice big shelter for owners to keep dry under and with a dog wash in the carpark it meant we even took clean dogs home - a bonus at this time of year😊 Thank you Welly and Tails.

Thanks to Welly and Tails for posting this, some really valuable advice😊

Hey everyone! 🎁 It's your favourite dog park and aggression trainer, here to depress you ahead of the festive season!

But seriously, a few things to think about that can make the difference between it being a stress-free Christmas and one of the worst experiences of your year.

To dogs, Christmas can mean:

🤯 Strangers visiting my house (including Santa!) resulting in barking, guarding or bites from stress/fear
🤯 Visitors bringing their own dogs to visit = dog fights or resource guarding
🤯 Children visiting the household of dogs who aren't used to kids
🤯 Less walks, more walks, walks in busy places, strange visits to Santa, strange visits to garden centres
🤯Eating loads more treats or weird stuff that I've scavenged that make my belly hurt
🤯 Weird stressy environment in the house because mum is cleaning, running round buying presents, and dad is.... (Ok, just my house then) 🙈😅
🤯 More toys to guard, more stuff to keep an eye on, more things to be told off about (I've already had my first destroyed present of the year that I left out in a dog-accessible room)

Dog bites are emotional things.

A dog bite doesn't just do physical injury, it can result in:

📌 You deciding to have your dog put to sleep after an incident
📌 You rehoming your dog
📌 Causing family disputes if a dog bites a visiting child
📌 Arguments in the home

I've spoken to owners over the years where Social Services have been involved because their dog has bitten their child. Where owners can no longer have their nieces, nephews and grandchildren visiting because of a dog bite.

So how to remedy this?

✅ Often, a quiet, separate space for your dog to relax in, or a well positioned baby gate can be the difference between these situations happening and not happening.

✅ We love giving our dog treats, but I really don't give my dogs a lot around this time of year. Just a few extras, spread out. The last thing I want at Christmas is tummy upsets.

✅ Don't feel guilty for putting your dog in another room. Feel guilty for putting them in situations they can't cope with.

Happy Christmas all! 😉🎄

What a fantastic couple of days at the British Agility Championships. Indie isn't quite two years old and this was only her second indoor show. We have learned so much this weekend and our partnership has really grown. We still have lots to work on but I'm so proud of how far we've come already.
