1. Remember to keep any Halloween treats out of reach of your dog (but of course you can buy Halloween themed dog treats for them!)
2. Dog costumes are getting increasingly popular but many dogs find them uncomfortable. You can always opt for a Halloween bandana or collar instead!
3. Planning to bring the whole family trick or treating? It might be best to leave your dog at home. With the streets extra busy and the people wearing all sorts of strange outfits, even a friendly dog can easily get overwhelmed.
4. Excited to hand out candy? Set up a safe space for your dog and/or set up a baby gate to block off your front entrance. Then you can enjoy the trick or treaters without worrying about Fido getting in the way or sneaking out the door.
5. If your dog struggles with the doorbell and/or strangers, you can set up a treat station outside on your walkway so people don’t come to your door.
