Miller's Life - Adopted Hi, I’m Miller! I’m a 3 yr old bull terrier who was pulled from a shelter by BRBTR in February of 2021.

Blue Ridge rescues and rehomes bull terriers along the east coast, except Florida and some of the eastern portion of the US.

The smile says it all

Miller came into rescue from a shelter in North Carolina in January. The last several months he has been under the care of Jenna Pakosta, a fabulous foster mom, who helped him lose weight to become a healthy version of himself. He has been patiently waiting for the right family and home to come along. Today his day has come, his new pawrents, Jim and Belinda, drove down to get him and bring him home. Special thanks to M Tyler Dean and Jessica Dean for initially pulling him and temporarily fostering him and Jenna for all the effort put in with Miller.

You can like and follow Miller’s journey on his page, Miller's Life.

Metal food bowl is his favorite item...it serves him food and entertains 🤣

There’s an old wives tale that says:

“The more he hucklebutts the better the dog”

Don’t quote me on this...but in this instance it’s 100% true.

Look at this slim stud muffin!!!
Miller came to me at 77.7 pounds...he was obese!
I need to take him to the vet to get a new weight on him, but I’m guessing he’s lost 10-15 pounds! He could lose a few more, but he’s looking a feeling great! He does more zoomies outside and he’s had a little more pep in his step!

Here is an updated video of Miller in action!!
He is a FANTASTIC DOG!!! He’s probably the easiest foster dog I’ve ever had in my home! Since the last update I’ve bathed him and clipped his nails and he was a perfect gentleman for both. He continues to be excellent on walks. He is settling in my house and his personality is coming out, he is now seeking out attention and affection.. he’s just such a sweet big mushy guy. I’m still doing a very slow intro with the other dogs in my home, we are going on walks together, and he can interact with them through the outdoor kennels. He’d be a great first time bull terrier owner or for someone looking for a laid back guy!
Basic info:
3 years old. Up to date on vaccines. On monthly prevention. Heartworm negative. No known health issues. Crate, house trained, and doggy door trained. Was 80 pounds when I got him, he’s lost about 5 so far! Not sure yet if he’s dog friendly. No small children. Fostered in Myrtle Beach, SC

Miller has been in my home for 2 weeks now.
He is an excellent dog!!! It has me wondering why he was surrendered to a shelter in the first place.

So here is what I know so far:
He’s 3 years old. He’s up to date with vaccines, heartworm negative, no known health issues that we know of. He’s being treated for an ear infection...he lets me clean his ears out and takes the medicated drops like a champ!!! He has not once attempted to get on my furniture, he lays on rugs or the dog bed I have in the living room. He has not had any accidents. He knows how to use my doggy door and enjoys sniffing around my yard and laying in the sun. He is excellent on leash...since he’s overweight he’s a little lazy on the walk. But he is losing weight! I have taken him on walks with multiple dogs and he has been kenneled next to multiple dogs without any incidents...in fact he seems to want to play, but I haven’t had him loose with any dogs to test him yet.
He has one quirk...he will obsessively hump any blankets or bedding that is in his crate with him. I assume this is a way for him to deal with stress and I hope that overtime with exercise and normal routine it will stop. But right now it’s not hurting anything and it’s just annoying to me.
He would be excellent for a first time Bull Terrier owner or anyone looking for a more laid back Bull Terrier. He was surrendered as “not good with kids” so I would also say a home without young children.

Please share this post so he can find his forever home!
Thanks, Jenna
