Big 1.5 weeks out Burracoppin.

The team was in full flight doing a multitude of different jobs.
Weaning, mustering, trucking sheep, back lining drafting, filling the shearing shed and much more.
Young dogs got some good exposure on different sheep too.

Me and the team have made our way up to Burracoppin this week assisting a local farmer with shearing.
Shearing will commence Monday but before that is shearing preparation, shuffling mobs around, drafting and some weaning.

With lambing at different stages across the state it’s a good time to start organising if you’ll need/want some assistance at lamb marking.

Couple short videos of some recent musters.
First video is Ramulam Luna shifting a small mob of ram lambs.
I quite like Lunas style on mobs she looks at the picture not just reacts.
Second couple videos are of Ramulam Kick and Ramulam Luna bring a mob of 5000 head down to the yards to draft them up.

Few sheep movements lately dogs working through the videos are Ramulam kick, Taworri Tai, nap and creed.

With harvest underway and some fresh stubbles becoming available been shifting a few mobs around.
This was the hoggets with 2850 head all up but spread over 3 mobs.
Been getting Taworri Tai on the job lately and gaining that work experience, she’s starting to put it all together and showing that’s she’ll be a pretty handy paddock I think.

Taworri Tai.
Dropped these few out to there paddock and used the opportunity to give Tai a bit of work on non trainer sheep.
She handled them pretty well seems to be a bit hesitant with going all the way round on the clockwise side at times but when she does seem to head fairly cleanly both ways.
Pretty happy with how she it progressing and maturing. Have just started to use her around the farm for a few small jobs around the place.

Got the opportunity to work Ramulam kick and nap on some cattle over the weekend.
Nap (second video) has worked cattle before and here was being used to encourage another dog to work as well.
However Ramulam kick before this had never seen/worked cattle before and as you can tell by the first part of the video he was a bit lost as to what was meant to be happening but with a bit of encouragement and persistence he switched onto the cattle and started working them.
I was pretty happy with how he went about it for his first time as well showing strength/confidence to come in a move the cattle around.

Thanks to StockDogs WA for inviting me down, I had a good time working a few hounds and helping others to train a few of there’s.

Also thanks to James Carr from Shimmy Downs Kelpies for hosting us and allowing us to work his sheep and cattle through out the day.

Ramulam Luna getting around a few strays.
Luna is ear tagged for breeding when she comes in season to Ramulam kick.
At this stage there won’t be any pups available due to forward bookings already.
